You may or may not have heard the phrase "kill them with kindness" before. If you haven't heard of this phrase before, it basically means to love your adversaries and to care for those who persecute you. While this strategy is great when it comes to dealing with the challenges of the physical world and is something that God endorses (Proverbs 25:21-22, Romans 12:20-21, etc.), I've thought of a phrase that is particularly useful when facing spiritual attacks: "kill them with scripture." Whenever you are dealing with any spiritual struggles with the enemy, speaking obscenities and lies into your ear, counter them by speaking the word of God out loud; it doesn't have to be verbatim, but it does have to be a truth that the Bible says about you. In the book of Matthew, chapter 4, Jesus used this method while He was being tempted by the devil in the wilderness for 40 days and 40 nights. The enemy attempted to make Jesus worship him with false promises, but Jesus held firm. This is how we, as Christians, are expected to act in situations like these. We kill the enemy with scripture. We live in a society where the need to focus on the distractions that reside in this world is so normalized. It isn't just the external distractions we focus on (social media, news outlets, what others are doing, etc.); we tend to get caught up with internal distractions (fear, resentment, doubt, discouragement, negative self-talk, et al.) as well. As Christians, we need to understand that distraction is one of the enemy's main tactics when it comes to steering you away from the path God established for you. 1 Peter 5:8 states that the enemy "prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour" and lions typically target the weakest link while hunting. In the same way, us Christians are more susceptible to spiritual attacks whenever we are weakened by the distractions of this world. If you are struggling with distraction, I would like for you to do one simple thing: replace all of your distractions with the things of God. Isaiah 26:3 states that the Lord will "will keep in perfect peace all who trust in [Him and] all whose thoughts are fixed on [Him]." Here's a video in case you might need more info. God bless.

Have you ever been called to a huge opportunity, but out of fear of what might go wrong, you end up rejecting it. Maybe it's that job offer you declined, that person that you don't think you are ready for, or that course that you feel you aren't ready yet. Whatever it is, you might've rejected that thing because you didn't "feel ready". If this person sounds like you, I want you to know this: you don't need to feel ready to be ready. In the book of Exodus, we get introduced to Moses. You might've already known him as the guy who split the "Red Sea", or as the man who led an entire bunch of Israelites out of captivity in Egypt, but before all that, Moses was just an old man with a walking stick and a stuttering problem. When the Lord offered him to lead these people out of the clutches of the Pharoh, he objected because he believed he didn't have the necessary qualifications to do such a thing. Despite his protests, the Lord still called him to complete this task because He knew that Moses was ready, even when Moses said otherwise. That same thing could be applied to you. If God is giving you an invitation, don't harden your heart; instead, openly accept it even if you don't feel qualified. Walk by faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7). Let me keep this message brief: your situation is a part of God's purpose in your life. I know there is someone out there who is currently in a difficult and painful situation, and for whatever reason, it appears like God is punishing them and, as a result, they stop moving. Little do they know that, remaining dormant in this walk with Christ is deliberately causing them to stray away from God's purpose for their life. Romans 8:29 states that God had already "knew His people in advance, and He chose them to become like His Son, [Jesus], so that His Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters." When God says these words, it does not imply were made to have the same mighty status as Him, but rather that we were meant to be as resilient, compassionate, and obedient as Jesus, regardless of whatever life throws at them.
