You Can't Control Your Thoughts
Really. You can't. Your thoughts will appear, and there's nothing you can do to reverse that. What you can do is not give it attention. Attention is how the thought grows. The modern life is perfect example of this, let's say you just thought of doomscolling, then you ( open tiktok for important reasons ) And that's how your attention is hijacked. It's all about steering where your attention goes. Remember you're not your thoughts. You're the observer of those thoughts. You might think where these thoughts come from. Well most of it is just a compilation of your past which i call experiences, and based on what happened then, you have certain beliefs that either give you energy to go through hard times, or u get limited by them. If that's the case, you don't give attention and do the important shit anyways. And a new experience is born. -Ignas

Theology Study
I have just finished reading The Ladder of Divine Ascent written by Saint John Climacus. I would recommend the book to study early church monasticism, disciplines, discernment, virtue and vices. In addition I have just finished reading God's revelation to the human heart written by now Saint Seraphim Rose which I would recommend, he is a great newly canonized contemporary Saint by ROCOR and his writings have pricked me to the heart. This one asks the question of why one studies religion? How does God reveal himself to different people, the nature of suffering, and the spiritual rebirth. I'm about to start on Nihilism the revolution of the modern age written by Saint Seraphim Rose. Stay in the scriptures, constantly study the fathers, stay in prayer, fasting, and stay in the life of the church.

Interesting answer and for the honesty!, however what do you mean by not being proud self-righteousness and in turn leads one to sin in their heart? Have a ace rest of day

Cause and Effect

Phone addiction(world cup)
I feel like the only way to remove my phone addiction is if I don't have a phone and get a flip phone. I've tried a lot of things to stop, but I still can't stop looking at soccer content, especially with the World Cup right now. I love soccer, but I can see it becoming an Idol. I think it is already an idol. I have had months or weeks of being in control, but as you know, depending on the will never works. I have also tried prayer many times, but I just cannot seem to be delivered. I don't get it, for me, some sins are just easy to hate and not do, but some are just hard to ignore, like entertainment, like soccer. This is even harder because I grew up with soccer and Joga Bonito videos.

Hi @Leonardo Mendoza-Bustos I hadnt had the time to read through all of the messages with your addiction but what on your phone makes you have the urge to be on it Is there a certain app, some knowledge you gain, connecting with other people ?

@Leonardo Mendoza-Bustos Thanks for the honest response man, deleting doesnt work. You cant go from zero to hero you have to slowly change your habits and wake up and say: You know what today I will watch 30min less and instead I will workout, read a book, meditate, call a friend, family member, reflect via journaling Being aware that you have that urge is the first step to change, you already moving in the right direction brother

What makes you go always back to apps, websites, social media accounts ? What do you truly gain from it and are you increasing your level of peace inside of it, are you moving closer towards your best version, if not than you need to ask yourself what inner part of you craves that feeling your phone gives you
