How To Find Your First Carrier (Step-By-Step)
91% of new dispatchers can’t find a single carrier to work with. Not because they’re unlucky. Not because the market is saturated. But because they’re doing it wrong... Carriers don’t care about your pitch. They don’t care that you’re a new dispatcher. They don’t care that you “work hard.” They care about one thing—proof of results. Here’s how you can start 👇 1. Find the “Dream Outcome” • No one wants a dispatcher. They want better loads, more money, and less stress. • Stop guessing what carriers want. Do the research. Figure out their biggest problems. • If you don’t know what they actually want, you won’t sell them anything. Skip this step and you’ll waste months trying to solve the wrong problem. 2. Use the "Starter Offer" • You have zero experience. So... why would anyone pay you? • Instead of selling a promise, remove the risk—work FREE for 30 days in exchange for a testimonial. • That testimonial becomes proof—and proof is what you use to charge money. You need to LEARN before you can EARN. 3. Be So Good They Can’t Ignore You • Over-communicate. Find loads fast. Solve problems before they ask. • Make it impossible for them to go back to dispatching themselves. • Carriers don’t refer “good” service. They refer shockingly good service. If carriers can see you're working hard, they will stick around. 4. Compound Referrals • After the free trial, convert them into a paid client or get 3 referrals. • One carrier turns into five, five turns into fifteen—without more cold calls. • If you do this right, your first carrier is the last one you ever have to chase. Your first client needs to build your lead pipeline for you. 5. Become the Best, THEN Raise Prices • After stacking testimonials and referrals, don’t just charge more—become more valuable. • The better you get AND the more proof you collect... the less you compete on price. • Carriers will chase you, not the other way around. The best dispatchers don’t sell. They attract. Most dispatchers will ignore this and keep begging carriers to work with them.

Congrats! Will you be driving or hiring drivers? Either way, best of luck!
My experience in GA, NC, SC.
One of my carriers is based in Florida, we were lucky and got a dedicated lane FL - NC (paying decently). He prefers to run short loads, beginning his week every Tuesday and going back home on Saturdays: 4 short loads a week. Once in NC, i just move him in these 3 states mostly, and then go back to Florida. As i see it, this is a good area, you can get $2/mile, even more, just running short loads, but you need time to get loads with those rates and paying more than 1000 usd. This would be a good strategy if the carrier doesn't want to run long distances. I ve seen prices here going anywhere from 700 to 1200 usd per load. Therefore, with 5 loads a week, your driver will make 3500 - 6000, which is acceptable, in my humble opinion. I hope you find this post useful and interesting, if your experience has been different, please share it! Thank you.

Thanks for sharing this information. I will definitly keep GA, NC & SC on the search for loads, are there any other hot zones in that region? And what tools are you using to spot these hot zone?
$20,000/month in just 30 days!! 😨
@Tandra Hill got laid off from her job in May 2025… And in the last 30 days, she’s signed around 10 carriers and lined up ~$20,000/month in potential revenue dispatching trucks. Here’s how it happened 👇🏽 (NOTE: Full interview is posted below…) Just a few months ago, Tandra was a receiving supervisor at a hazardous waste plant. Her boss controlled: - Her schedule - Her income - And even the level of respect she got at work Then they “downsized”… and she was one of the people let go. She was tired of being replaceable and decided this time had to be different... Her first plan? Start a box truck company. She watched my YouTube videos, ran the numbers, and realized: Buying the truck + maintenance + all the startup costs would almost wipe out her savings and investments… …plus she didn’t even know how to drive a box truck yet. She didn’t want a careless risk. She wanted a calculated one. That’s when she pivoted to truck dispatching. She was already inside Dispatcher University (LITE), she saw the community + free course, and thought: “Let me actually give this dispatching thing a real shot.” So she took the risk and joined the paid Dispatcher University course + community. And here's what happened in the last 30 days... → She joined the "Dispatch Games" (our 30-day challenge to post content + run ads) → Watched the Week 4 Facebook Ads training inside the paid course → Set her ad budget (aimed to spend $500, capped at ~$600) → Used ChatGPT to create ad images + recorded one simple video → Ran the Facebook ads exactly how it’s taught inside Dispatcher University The result? → ~10 carriers signed in about 30 days → Roughly $20,000/month in potential revenue (once trials roll off) → So many carriers that she actually had to let a few go to focus on her core group No truck. No massive startup costs. No cold calling. Just one skill, one traffic source, and one decision to bet on herself. When I asked what she’d tell someone on the fence, her message was simple:
