U.S Scholarships For 2026 International Applicants
Iยดm from Honduras and I have a 3.7 gpa and a strong academic profile, but I cannot pay more than 10k a year for university, Iยดm currently seeking for scholarships in the U.S, I want to attend a good university, like LSU, Auburn, Utah, FIU, Santa Monica College etc. Any guidance tips?

Hey, thatโ€™s a really strong GPA, and I love that you already have your target schools in mind. With a 3.7 GPA, youโ€™re definitely competitive, but since your budget is around $10K per year, youโ€™ll want to focus on schools that either meet full financial need or offer big merit scholarships for international students. The universities you mentioned โ€” Auburn, Utah, and FIU โ€” do give merit aid, but itโ€™s usually partial, meaning you might still pay $15Kโ€“$25K per year after scholarships. However, if youโ€™re open to strategy, hereโ€™s what Iโ€™d recommend: Start at a community college like Santa Monica College, which you mentioned. Tuition there is much lower, and some community colleges offer scholarships to top students. After 2 years, you can transfer to a top university (like Amherst College) and finish your degree, that path saves a lot of money and still gives you a U.S. degree. If you prefer to go straight into a 4-year university, apply to schools that meet 100% of demonstrated financial need for internationals, like Berea College, University of Rochester, Trinity College, Amherst, or Williams College. These are more selective, but they can cover all your costs if you get in.

@Daniel Caceres Take a look at Whitman College, The College of Wooster, St. Olaf College, Union College, Connecticut College, College of the Holy Cross, and University of Rochester.

Scholarship Eligibility for January (Spring) Freshman Intake
Hi Iโ€™m an international student interested in applying as a freshman. I wanted to ask if itโ€™s possible to receive a 100% scholarship if I start my studies in January, or if full scholarships are only available to students who start in August. I just want to understand if beginning in the spring semester would affect my scholarship eligibility.

Most are only available in August. Starting in spring will hurt your chances of full funding

@Agnes Karabo They have to submit the letters of recommendations first, or else you won't be able to submit your completed application
How to Get Full Scholarship for Your Master's Degree
The truth is most fully funded opportunities in the U.S. are for PhDs, not masterโ€™s. With just your bachelorโ€™s, you can apply directly to PhD programs, and they will cover tuition, health insurance, and give you a stipend. You donโ€™t need a masterโ€™s first. This is the best and most realistic path if your main goal is full funding. Here is a list of fully funded PhD programs: https://stan.store/williamlebeau/p/list-of-30-phd-programs-in-usa-with-full-funding However, If you are set on a masterโ€™s, then youโ€™ll need to target the few programs that fund all admitted students (like Princeton SPIA, MIT Media Lab, Notre Dame Keough, Curtis Institute) or apply for fellowships like Fulbright or the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program (for African students). ๐Ÿ‘‰ I put everything into a guide with the exact schools, fellowships, and deadlines: https://stan.store/williamlebeau/p/masters-degrees-that-fund-international-students Also, you are able to get a full funding loan for your master's degree in America. To see if you are eligible, click on this link: https://app.mpowerfinancing.com/?ref_code=willizgc I also just created a new service because thousands of people were requesting it. If youโ€™d like one-on-one help, you can book a session with me here: https://stan.store/williamlebeau/p/book-a-11-call-with-me-tbczwfr2. Itโ€™s 60 minutes of guidance on your applications and scholarships.
