Deadlines, yes, but…
It’s incredibly easy for me to slip right into the work of business in the morning. Today I deliberately set that aside until I went to the gym. I have a hard time getting up early, so my gym time was in the middle of an otherwise productive workday. I got a moderate workout in, I feel good. I feel clear. I’m probably able to get more done (efficiency), as well has been able to focus on the better tasks (effectiveness), because of time, not wasted working out. It was invested. After hitting the gym, I’m a little more organically conscious of the fuel that I want to put in my body, the hydration, and what I might be able to squeeze in later in the day! Either a distance paddle on the lake or maybe getting some distance effort in a longboard “SUP Skate” paddle/ride on the streets.
I lifted a PR yesterday!
PR is personal record by the way. I’ve been working on some Olympic bar or barbell lifts. Some things to keep in mind if this is a goal for you… Start with lighter weight dumbbells. The bar itself is 45 pounds. So if you are struggling to lift 15 lb dumbbells, work up to that until it’s easy. I suggest working with a trainer for your first time using a bar. Work up to higher weight slowly. First time using the barbell should be just the bar without weight with good form until that is easy. Let me know if you want some tips.
