Hey Karis, where is your property located? the average nightly rate on Airbnb for Kinshasa is very high so you should definitely try it out. You have nothing to lose
AFCON 2027: quick reminder for hosts ⚽️
Fam, quick reminder for everyone hosting in Kenya, Tanzania, or Uganda: have you already prepared your calendar and pricing for AFCON 2027? I know it still feels far away, but people are already planning trips, checking flights, and some will book accommodation far in advance. So if your calendar is already open, please make sure you don’t accidentally accept bookings at your normal rate during a time where demand will most likely be much higher. This is especially important if your place is close to stadiums, airports, main roads, nightlife, restaurants, or tourist areas. Also think about minimum stays, cancellation policies, transfers, and whether your place is suitable for groups or football fans traveling together. Now is the time to keep this on your radar and prepare properly, not when everyone is already searching and prices are going up. For those hosting in Kenya, Tanzania, or Uganda: have you already adjusted your calendar or pricing for AFCON 2027?

No capital investment, so what?
What would you suggest to an Airbnb enthusiast with no to low capital investment? Where to start? How to build from there? Any among us having made it through similar situations?

I would suggest Co-hosting. Get in touch with Airbnb hosts who are not performing well but have a nice property with potential. Offer them to optimize their listing free of charge. After a month or two of giving them proof that you helped them get more bookings, you make an offer 10-15% commission on each booking if they want to continue working with you.
