Hi everyone. My name is Justice. I'm new to this online community and I'm glad to be here. I'm excited to be here. I haven't skated in years and want to rekindle the fun that I had growing up and going to the rink. I'm here to learn and be apart of this community. Thanks for having me.

Skate Class Experience
I'm a new skater. I started skating late May of this year. I recently found out that there are classes near my area. I go to my first class, and I get the basics of backwards crossovers, which is mostly knew to me since I'm not the best at skating backward. However, It was a great experience and I made a ton of progress. I practice outside of class and attend another session. Unfortunately I had a not so great experience the second time around. For all the hard work I put in, all I really remember were the constant pointers and corrections. Honestly that's part of the reason why I am attending, but a "good job" goes a long way. I think I just wanted to get this off my chest.

Marcie, try not to be dishearten. There are times when you need different types of instructors/coaches in your skate journey . I recommend that as long as you know that you are growing as a skater and having fun, don’t be discouraged and keep moving forward.
OUCH!!! OUCH!!! OUCH!!!!
Ok! Where are my 40 plus members??? I was at the rink last Friday and stopped to help a little girl get up...long came two other teen girls behind me and I tumbled over. I didn't think anything of it. i got up, helped the three little girls up, and I kept skating. Finished the session, then the next day came!!! Oh my my my... it took my all week to recover! Lol... it hurts a lot more and a lot longer after "a little tumble" . My goodness... I have muscles that I did not know existed!!! Good news: nothing is broken 😀 I'm back at it tonight 🤪

Roller Skate Podcast?
any podcast fans and listeners in here? i listen to several all the time usually in the car during my commutes. i was wondering, if there was a good roller skate podcast that skaters wanted to listen to, what topics what topics would you want to hear talked about? who would you like to hear from? what would it look like? Asking for a friend😁

1)How to get the most out of different types of skate instructors/coaches.2) Perhaps the need for different types of instructors at different phases of your skate journey.
Why buying expensive Riedell 3200s won't fix your terrible spin technique. 🛼
I see so many beginners drop $800 on custom boots and Arius plates, thinking the hardware will magically cure their balance issues. Then they hit the rink, try a pivot-back6 combo, and immediately eat the floor. The pain is real (especially the bunions!). I was frustrated for years until I stopped blaming my wheels and installed 'The Silent Hand-Off' into my practice sessions. Instead of forcing the momentum, the hand-off trains your body to transfer your center of gravity seamlessly from the toe manual into the spin, letting physics do the work instead of your ankles. What's the hardest part of your skating journey right now—nailing the footwork, or just finding the confidence to hit the floor?

Managing weight shifts to me is part of managing your center of balance. When I started to think more intentionally about center of balance on and off skates and in creating pivot positions and points it helped to stabilize my skating and I started to pick up moves more quickly.
