Change Their Environment
One of the biggest lessons I have learned is to change their environment! When your child is throwing a fit, screaming, hitting, whatever it is...change their environment. I will usually take them outside to check on the chickens or go on a walk. I found that this creates a mind shift and allows them to cool down. Honestly, we as parents could probably do this for ourselves as well!

Love this! Don't have any kids yet, but I am trying to learn as much as I can before my wife and I have any kids.

@Jace Kelly Exactly! That is what I've told my wife. When I don't feel like doing it, I do it anyways because of my discipline. Or at least by doing it anyways I am helping develop discipline.
Why Workout?
Why do you workout? Working out as a father and husband can be a daunting task. You are already tired (no matter what time of day it is) and probably have a dozen other things that need your attention. I work out because I refuse to be lazy through my kids childhood. I want to be the dad that is playing sports with my kids, going on hikes, wake surfing, on the mat coaching wrestling, etc. Ya know, superman.

Biggest reason for me working out is that our body is a temple given to us by God. โ€œDo you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you?โ€ (1 Corinthians 6:19)
