I was exhausted all the time, but couldn’t sleep at night. Food didn’t taste like anything, and I lost weight without trying. The smallest things felt overwhelming. And then there was the brain fog and that was the part that made me feel the most broken. It was a crazy time, that's for sure.

@Rebecca Lazzelle that does sound like progress even though you got triggered, not having a panic attack. I want to try some traditional therapy with EMDR, grief and PTSD counseling. And I’ve been doing a bit of work with nervous system healing too. The hard part is just making yourself do it. I feel like doing specific prayers and affirmations are helping.

The single most important practice: Notice and name it in the moment. Before you can change the pattern you have to catch it happening. So the first step is simply developing the habit of noticing when you’re shrinking. It sounds like this internally: ∙ I just edited what I was about to say ∙ I just agreed with something I don’t actually agree with ∙ I just made myself smaller so they’d be comfortable You don’t have to do anything differently yet. Just notice. Name it to yourself. That alone begins to change it.
