we walked through the gate into the temple… and there was nobody there… like NOBODY… not one offering… not one decoration… not even a sign that anyone had been there that day… three women standing in full Balinese dress… kabayas… sarongs… sashes… looking absolutely beautiful if I do say so myself… completely and utterly baffled… 😂 but let me back up… Galangan is the biggest festival of the year here in Bali… happens every 210 days because they go off the moon calendar… 13 months a year… which honestly I think is the right way… the 12 month calendar is a crock of shit anyway… Galangan it's all about good over evil… the victory of dharma over adharma… and the whole island transforms… families out on scooters from the early hours… visiting their temples… laying offerings… every single home here has its own temple and watching families move between them in the morning light was just… everything… and the penjor… oh the penjor… towering bamboo poles lining every single street… coconuts… rice… sacred offerings all the way up… the curve representing Mount Agung… the sacred mountain… the holy dragon with its tail planted in the ground arching towards the heavens… I mean. COME ON. DAMN BEAUTIFUL so me and two gorg friends decided we wanted to properly immerse ourselves… not just watch from the outside… actually BE immersed in it… now here's the bit I don't always share… I get really severe social anxiety, its sucks, … something I'm totes tryna work on… and it hits hardest when I walk into new environments with new faces and no idea what the rules are… and walking into a temple during a sacred ceremony in full ceremonial dress… surrounded by people I don't know… in a culture I'm still learning… my head went into full spiral mode… do I take an offering… do we pray… do we stand back… are we even allowed here… what if I do something wrong… what if I offend someone… I nearly talked myself out of it… but I didn't… and I'm so glad I didn't… I'm so damn grateful I had two people with me that day… because sometimes u just need other humans to walk through the door with u…

AND I BUILT SOMETHING REAL AF AROUND IT. 🔥 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗦𝗧𝗢𝗥𝗬…𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗴𝗼𝗲𝘀…𝗪𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗘 𝗜 𝗔𝗖𝗧𝗨𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗬 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗥𝗧𝗘𝗗 Ey up then,so this is one of those posts I probably should have written a long fricken time ago… but here we are (better late than never hey) 😂 Coz I reckon some of u are reading what I do… watching how I talk about community and messaging and showing up and making money from it… and somewhere in the back of ur mind going… “Hmmm yeah but she's business to business… she doesn't really get MY world" And I want to hold up a mirror to that thought for a sec here's some bits u might know about me Mimi The thing is I didn't start here Not even close My story starts at 24 years old… running my very first solo dance classes… terrified… passionate af… absolutely winging it… and completely in love with what I was doing And from there it slowly evolved over time…like life does…… into yoga… into meditation… into manifestation… into inner work… into helping people find more confidence in themselves… more self belief… more connection to who they actually are NOT business to business NOT strategy and frameworks and metrics stuff 𝗬𝗢𝗚𝗔… 𝗠𝗘𝗗𝗜𝗧𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡… 𝗠𝗔𝗡𝗜𝗙𝗘𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡… 𝗜𝗡𝗡𝗘𝗥 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗞...the stuff that's hardest to sell because u can't hold it… can't measure it… can't put it in a neat little box and slap a price tag on it (well so they say…whoever the EF they are) And u know what I had to figure out? How to build a community around something intangible How to help people FEEL the value of something they couldn't see yet How to create trust… safety… connection… transformation… in a space where the results weren't always immediately visible How to sell something that lived entirely in the energetics… the psychology… the human experience of it And oh my dog did I figure it out BOOM I built a community of 10 thousand people… and look… I don't give a flying sht about that number… u know that about me by now (yes I had my moments)😂… but what I DO give a sht about is what was HAPPENING inside it

…but NOW I’m thinking there were some SLEAZY ASS TACTICS at play here… So this morning I go for breakfast, as you do here in Bali… Kick off my sandals outside… Go eat my breakfast… NOM FRICKING NOM NOM. Living my best little scrambled tofu life. I come back out… WHAT THE FCK? WHERE ARE MY SHOES??? Like…MY ACTUAL SHOES. Gone. Vanished.Disappeared.ABDUCTED. So naturally I lose the plot a tiny little bit. I’m looking under tables. Around plants.Questioning staff.Questioning humanity.Questioning whether I accidentally ascended barefoot into another dimension…yup BUT HERE’S THE THING… I ALWAYS leave them at the door.I’ve been going to this place for TWO YEARS. And sitting there…ALL ALONE…like some sad little abandoned ex… …was a pair of BROWN sandals. Kind of like mine.But also VERY NOT LIKE MINE. Mine are BLACK. Cute.Cork.Sexy little vegan sandals. obvs These were brown leather-looking ones and honestly… I DON’T WANT YOUR SKANKY ASS BROWN SANDALS, SUSAN…. (I know can u feel how serious I am about this) GIMME MY BLACK ONES BACK. So I ask where the lady went who was sitting there. “Ohhh she left.” OH DID SHE NOW? Now listen… Have YOU ever tried putting shoes on without looking down? (Yes I practiced) It’s kind of difficultAF. Go ahead give it a bash, film it show me… So at SOME POINT this woman had to notice she’d suddenly transformed from:“brown sandal lady” to “Mimi Ramsey’s black sandal era.” And I thought…Ok… Maybe honest mistake.Maybe she’ll realise.Maybe she’ll come back in 10 mins all embarrassed and apologetic. NOPE. WE ARE NOW NEARLY TEN HOURS IN. No return. No phone call. No message. No:“Hey, slight issue… accidentally stole your footwear.” NOTHING. NAFF ALL…NOT A TOFU SAUSAGE And the thing that’s making me EXTRA RAGEY TO DA MAX… These sandals are hard AF to get here. I WAITED TWO YEARS FOR THESE BAD BOYS. TWO DAMN YEARS. Do you know how attached you become to sandals after two years in Bali? Those things have BEEN THROUGH IT with me.
