We just hit 100 members. 🎉
When I created this community, I honestly had no idea if anyone would join. I remember looking at the member count every day. 2 members... 5 members... 17 members... wondering if I was building something people actually needed or if I was just talking to myself. Today, we crossed 100 members. I know 100 isn't a crazy number compared to some communities with thousands of people, but for me, it's a reminder that every big community starts with the first person who decides to believe in it. More importantly, it's not just 100 members. It's 100 people trying to build something for themselves. People publishing newsletters, getting their first subscribers, landing clients, asking questions, sharing wins, and helping each other. That's what makes this community worth showing up for. So thank you. Whether you've been here since the beginning or joined yesterday, I'm genuinely grateful you're here. That said, we're just getting started. I want this to become the best place on the internet to learn how to grow a newsletter, and that only happens if we keep improving together. So I'd love your honest feedback: - What's been the most valuable part of the community? - What should I improve? - What would you like to see more of? Every suggestion gets read. Also, over the next little while, I'm opening a few newsletter audit calls where I'll personally look at your newsletter, growth strategy, and give you personalized feedback on what I'd focus on next. If you're interested, just comment: Audit I'll send you all the details in DM so check your message :). Here's to the first 100. Now let's build something even bigger together. 🚀

Hey William! First off, congrats on hitting 100 subs! I know it might not seem like a big milestone compared to some larger communities, but nonetheless, it's definitely something worth celebrating! In terms of feedback, I like how interactive the community is. From the live growth boards, Q&A's, discussions, etc., there are so many opportunities for me to interact with the community, network, and grow together. I also like that I have direct access to you for personalized feedback and/or to ask questions on my newsletter. So far, I don't have any criticisms for the Newsletter Growth Lab, as I’ve only been here for about a month, but I will definitely let you know of any concerns or suggestions for feedback in the future! I would definitely like to see more free tips/tricks/advice for growing your newsletter, if possible, especially for someone like me who is financially conscious in how I spend. Nonetheless, great job again on your work in the Newsletter Growth Lab. I’m so grateful to be a part of this amazing community, and I look forward to growing and knowing everyone here better! :)
What to Expect This Summer!
Hey everyone, I'm back! 👋 I took a little break as my summer job started, and I wanted to give you a quick update. For the rest of the summer, this community will stay active with posts, Q&As, and discussions to help you stay accountable and get the best results possible. I need your help to make it even better, so don't hesitate to share your questions, wins, and struggles! That said, I'll be a little less active during the week because of work, so it's normal if you see fewer posts from me. I'll still do my best to show up consistently. I'd also love to see some of you share your own posts, lessons, or questions. That's how we build a great community together. That's all for now, I'm excited to see everyone's progress! 🚀 Question: What's your plan for the summer, both on Substack and in your personal life?

Hey William! Sounds good! My summer plans are to continue working as a tutor, increase traffic and experience with my Substack, and also spend more time with my friends and family. Personally, I'm just trying to improve my diet, prioritize sleep, and be more intentional with time management as I move into the school year. Also hoping to learn what to invest in on the side to maintain long-term wealth. Grateful for this community overall and looking forward to growing together! :)

Live Growth Board Week #14
Welcome back to a Live Growth Board! Super excited to see your progress! (2 months milestone!) Where you get the chance to see your progress each week, ask question and be accountable. Which is the best way to grow on Susbtack and in this community too. Each Monday, we share our work, stats and progress in the classroom! It’s also a great way for me, and the community, to support and cheer each other on. Just share your update like I did below 👇 For me: Subscriber count: 1911 (previously 1856) Open rate: 23% (previously 22%) Notes published: 35 (previously 35) Growth comments: 300 Classroom work: Didn’t do much this week but we had our first workshop! Thanks for being there guys! How many months have you been here, let’s celebrate! 🙌

@William Leroux Thanks, William! And same to you!
We often celebrate the wins... but what about the hard moments?
One thing I love about this community is seeing people share their subscriber milestones, launches, and growth. But the truth is... Most of the real work happens during the moments nobody sees. For me, one of those moments happened around 750 subscribers. I launched my first product and... crickets. Almost no sales. Almost no feedback. I got one customer after a few weeks (which made me very happy 😄), but they didn't even go through the content. Then Christmas came around and I took a huge break from Substack. When I came back, it felt like I had lost everything. The momentum. The engagement. The connections. After putting so much effort into building, I was honestly discouraged. What helped me was going back to why I started in the first place: To build freedom. To be proud of myself. To use my time on something meaningful. To share my thoughts with people who cared. So I wrote an article about how I felt. Ironically, it got some of the best engagement I'd seen in a while. More importantly, I felt relieved. Since then, I've tried to build with less pressure and more enjoyment. And looking back, moments like that are part of the reason I'm still here today. My question for you: What's one difficult moment in your writing or creator journey that almost made you quit... but taught you something valuable in the end? 👇

@William Leroux I will probably look back on your classroom modules and re-read how to create a strong bio, do reader research, etc., because I do believe the framework is there, and I just need to execute correctly to grow my page, just like you did!

Hello everyone! I'm a new blogger and member of the Newsletter Growth Lab, writing on productivity. Just putting myself out there with my first growth board post, and I hope to stay consistent on it! Subscribers: 13 Open rate (from my first article): 30% Notes published: 15 Growth comments: approx. 52 (counted from those that intended to stimulate discussion.) Answer: Posting engaging notes and also reaching out to my community more, so I know what my readers want and open the opportunity to gain more subscribers. I'm also open to any feedback on how I can improve my Substack and/or writing in general. Thanks everyone!
