Welcome New Member - March Madness
This is a great, welcoming community. Let us know what your screenwriting journey is that brought you here. What movies you love, where you're from, and what was the moment that made you want to be a writer. You've finally found a place to explore that with other encouraging film lovers. Remember, you don't have to face the blank page alone! Speaking of which, there's a New Member Coffee and Coaching Call this coming Wednesday at 10 a.m. Pacific time. We'd love you to join us there just to say hi and get to know the group or bring some pages if you want to get in on some coaching and see how this place really works!

A New York Story 🗽🎬 Hi everyone, I’m Wally Shaykhoun. I’m a half-Egyptian, half-Irish New Yorker, and for as long as I can remember, I’ve been obsessed with the "why" behind human behavior. My path hasn't been a straight line it’s been a journey through the visual arts of fashion photography, hair, and makeup, the high-stakes world of money trades, and most importantly, my work as an Inner Child facilitator and Shadow Work coach. For a long time, I saw these as separate chapters. But as I’ve grown, I realized they are all the same story. Whether I was executive producing "No Man’s Land" with Frank Grillo or co-writing "I Am Adam" with Nick Roddam, I was always looking for the psychological "mirror." I’ve realized that the most visceral films the ones that stick to your ribs like Whiplash or Nightcrawler are actually deep studies of the human shadow. Why I’m here: I’m currently building a film library and a new slate of projects alongside producer Gary Michael Walters. But beyond the business of film, I’m here because I believe in the power of cinema to map the inner workings of the soul. I’m moving toward my ideal life: one that is as cinematic as it is conscious. I’m excited to be part of a community that values the intersection of grit, psychology, and world-class storytelling. Looking forward to connecting with you all.
