He351 on a ve
Does anyone have first or second hand experience putting an he351 on a ve truck? Curious on your thoughts

I’m putting one on right now, but it’s brand new build so I have no take as far as drivability. I’ve read online that HE351 is fine and will spool faster, the other side I’ve read is that VE will not make enough power to drive HE351. So dunno

Decking a block
How far can I deck the early Cummins block? I see they make .020 thicker gasket so I imagine at least that far. My thought was decking the block to bump up compression by reducing piston to head clearance. But if I over decked the block then set my clearance by milling the piston tops then I could also reduce bowl volume and further increase compression. Even if I could get away with decking it .030 or .040 I'd be in the money I think

If you’re going to get new pistons, just got the Mahle power packs. They can come .010 under already

Cold Crank PSI
Brand new build, I just cranked it over for the first time. Running about 18PSI on oil for cold crank. How does that sound?

Custom Stub shaft - California
Wondering if anyone knows any machine shops that are equipped to make a female - male involuted spline stub shaft. Most shops here with HAAS won’t take anything under 6K order, and I need just a few of those spline shafts. Let me know! Haven’t been able to find anything so far with about a dozen RFQs. I’m in Sacramento CA

@Robert Winkworth high mount. Common for Cummins swap for narrow body frames. Moves the AC up
