Let's assume I'd release a Cubase Trailer Music Template ...
Hey guys, I just want your input. Let's assume I would release a Trailer Music template in Cubase with the most necessary instruments set up, routing, internal plugins and markers/orientation points on the general trailer music formula. What Kontakt version would you like to see that in? Kontakt 7 or 8? Also I would try to use the most used or most owned sample libraries at their latest version. What do you think?

@Alex Pfeffer does the template use features that are not available in Kontakt Player? If not, for a user it's not very difficult to install both Kontakt 7 Player and Kontakt 8 Player alongside each other. If people cannot run Kontakt 8 Player because of using an older OS, I guess they should be looking at upgrading the OS from a security perspective (i.e. Kontakt 8 Player requires macOS 12, which is end of life as of September last year). If the template requires the paid Kontakt 7 or 8, it would say use the most compatible version (K7), because not all users have upgraded to Kontakt 8 or the latest Komplete bundle.
A new social network - new opportunities!
Hey guys, just quickly wanted to talk about Bluesky. There is a new social network that is currently trending like crazy and reached 15 million users just two days ago. Now, you may think that too many social networks aren't a good idea to be and that you are cool with just one or two of them already, ... and generally I agree, the less distractions, the better it is. However, keep in mind that social networks can always be split up into three simple categories: - 9:16 content - 16:9 content - text That's it. If you got a piece of 9:16 content below 60 secs, you can share it as: - Instagram Reel - YouTube Shorts video - TikTok post If you got a piece of text, you can share that to: - Facebook - Twitter/X - Bluesky - Threads - LinkedIn You get the idea. So whenever you have a piece of content, make sure to share it as on many platforms as possible because every little post is a new opportunity leading to potential new gigs, collaborations or business relationships. Now, we got Bluesky and it is basically, let's say, a welcome alternative to the Twitter, that, sadly, isn't Twitter anymore. Why should it matter in general? A fresh social network is a perfect platform to build a huge follower base, because the algorithms are new, meaning your content will automatically reach more and new people. During my time studying at the LACM in Los Angeles, one of my teachers, Linda Taylor said the following: Whenever you send out CDs (yes, back then this was the application medium of choice), put as much information about yourself as possible: Your name, phone number, pager, email address, postal address, everything! Now, today, 25 years later, the same applies to social networks. Be on as many as possible. The developer, the company, the client, the customer you may miss on Facebook or Instagram, may be around and open to your content on LinkedIn or TikTok ... and now, Bluesky :) Feel free to share your Bluesky Accounts here šŸ‘‡ Here is mine: alexpfeffer.bsky.social

Hi! Vincent here, music composer and guitar player, nice to meet you all! Quick intro: for projects I'm usually composing new music and designing sound effects, letting both interweave, overlap and interact. Love researching different styles for every project, depending on what can elevate the narrative. Currently looking into how to build a sustainable income as a music composer focusing on sync and video game music, and still be able to have enough time and energy to run a family, do my sports and recharge. Have a listen on my website at https://listentovincent.com Hope to be able to help out others in the community here with my experience so far. :) Cheers!
