Collecting connections, swapping elevator pitches, and dropping your links into a chat box isn't exactly a business growth strategy. And I don't know about you, but I'm not interested in spending another hour in a room where everyone is trying to sell to everyone else. I want relationships that actually lead somewhere. The kind where women know what you do, understand who you serve, remember your name when an opportunity comes up, and genuinely want to see you win. That's why I'm opening up The Relationship Room inside The Growth Room, and I'd love to invite you to join me! This is one of the sessions I personally host, and it's built around a pretty simple philosophy: Relationships → Referrals → Revenue. No awkward elevator pitches. No pressure to sell. I had a lovely chat with Angela from Sacred Self Sanctuary, and there was one thing she said that really stuck with me: “Self-love is not a destination. It is a practice that you just keep returning to.” And I think that matters. Angela creates monthly workshops around different aspects of self-love and self-care, particularly for midlife women living with chronic illness, neurodivergence, anxiety, depression or simply those days when your energy decides it has its own agenda. She knows that world from personal experience too. What I particularly liked about our conversation was that Angela isn't talking about creating some perfect self-care routine that you then beat yourself up for not following. Quite the opposite. Her workshops are practical. The idea is that you leave knowing something you can actually do when that particular issue shows up in your life. Her next workshop looks at the inner critic and self-love, that delightful little voice that likes to tell us we've failed, we can't do something, or we're not good enough. And Angela has more workshops coming each month, including one in November around resting without permission. As somebody who also lives with chronic illness, this conversation resonated with me because sometimes looking after yourself isn't about doing MORE. Sometimes it's about learning how to work with where you are today. And perhaps giving yourself permission to do that without feeling guilty about it.
