I will start with this one from the Duomo di Milano, a cathedral in Milan, Italy that took 579 years to complete. I was on a trip with my two sons in 2023 after my youngest had graduated high school. Milan was our first stop on a 10 day adventure through Italy with stops in Venice, Modena, Rome and Salerno. There were many impressive cathedrals but this one was by far the most amazing. I would highly recommend the tour.

Last night I was reminded how important it is to make sure you have your flights aligned with your ground transportation. I got to sit in LA traffic, ughh... I had booked a flight for my boyfriend back from Athens, Greece and forgot to see when the last train was from LA to Oceanside where we live. The flight I booked was arriving about an hour before the last train and because you have to account for customs and baggage claim that wouldn't have left enough time for him to catch the bus that goes to the train station. I've had the same experience on the other end of another trip, I was on a solo trip in Athens and I'd booked a pretty early flight back to the US. The first train (metro) to the airport there was at 7 am and I needed to be at the airport around 6. A cab to the airport costs around 60 euros compared to the metro which was 9 and its about a 40 minute ride. The lesson here, research ground transportation before you confirm your flights. 😊
