Last Day in Greece, what to do before you leave?
As we say goodbye to this lovely country and get ready for our next adventure, I’ve been thinking about how to make the most of your last full day in Greece. Of course, what you do will depend on where you are but here are some ideas (and a few personal favorites) to help you close your trip on the perfect note. ☕ Start slow. Greece moves at its own pace and your last morning shouldn’t be any different. Find a sunny spot at a local café, order a freddo cappuccino and bougatsa or teropita. Watch the locals come and go, listen to the chatter, and soak in those final seaside breezes or if in Athens the city's activity. 🏛 Savor one more adventure. Maybe it’s a final walk through ancient ruins, or one last swim in the Aegean. Whether you’re wandering through Plaka’s charming streets finishing up your shopping in Athens, or exploring tucked-away corners on an island, take your time and let it sink in. 🍴 Feast one last time. It wouldn’t be a Greek goodbye without one more table covered in mezze. If in Athens have lunch in Plaka, get the yogurt kabob or one last pita wrap at Thanisis. On an island or somewhere on the coast, sit somewhere with a view enjoy grilled fish, tzatziki, a crisp Greek salad, maybe some baklava or orange pie to finish. Toast to your trip. 🌅 Chase the sunset. You can’t leave Greece without one last golden hour. Grab some wine, find a quiet outlook, and let the fading light do its magic. There’s something about Greek sunsets that make even “goodbye” feel beautiful.
