AI content sucks. I’d never use it to write anything associated with my brand. But when it comes to finding ideas, AI is one of the best tools available. I recently bought John’s Daily Emails 101. And this time I'm determined to start a list. Here's I'm going to use the below tools to come up with ideas. (I'm already using these tools for copywriting ideas.) ## REDDIT SCANNER This one scans reddit threads for keywords and lets me download them. I built it with Claude Code. (Don't ask how - just vibes.) Here's how it works: First, I describe my target audience. Then A local LLM identifies relevant subreddits. Next, I enter a search query. The LLM expands it into several related queries, and the app uses Reddit’s API to find matching threads in the subreddits from step 1. I download those threads, feed them to ChatGPT, and ask questions. In fact, I often start my audience research by giving ChatGPT these threads along with a few winning sales letters. (Most of the winning sales letters come from Lawrence Bernstein's website.) ## PODCAST SUMMARIZER Claude Code also built me an app that transcribes podcasts and summarizes them. I've picked a mix of marketing, health, screenwriting, and general interest podcasts (Tim Ferriss, Altucher, etc.) Every day, I scan the summaries for interesting ideas. The app also saves each summary to my Obsidian notes. This pairs nicely with the next tool. ## NOTE TAGGER All my notes from books, courses, interviews etc. plus random observations live inside Obsidian. I've created an app that automatically tags all my notes, including the podcast summaries. I've given it what tags to use so I don't end up with a million tags that I'll never use or remember. So when I write a new note and add tags, I can quickly find similar ideas. ## VIRAL IDEA FINDER I built this one with Poe and it works as a web app. It uses several LMM models (GPT, Claude, Grok, Temini) that can crawl the web.
