The Connection Audit

Three to 5. But that’s because birth work has a pretty set max work load, so we refer to other birthworkers we respect when a new client doesn’t fit our availability.

@Nicole Borghi I’m biased because I like it so much, but I can’t think of anything more joyful than working with expectant moms, new moms, and little babies!
Why do so many businesses stay small?
Is it lack of capital…Fear of failure…Or something deeper? In this clip from Monsongo Moukwa, we talk about the real trade-off entrepreneurs feel when it comes to growth. And why scaling doesn’t have to mean burnout. 🎥 Watch the full replay on YouTube.

@Nicole Borghi This is exactly what I was going to answer! It’s hard to scale if one person is the entire business model. Definitely working on overcoming this as I take childbirth education and birth coaching online to scale.

I also agree it depends how it’s done. I went to one in person for birth workers and it was a great deal of fun and very beneficial.

@Coleen Stubbs we all got to present on what part of pregnancy, labor and delivery or postpartum we help with, who we would find beneficial giving/receiving referrals to and from, and where we were located in our community. It was also informational for first time parents so it doubled as client acquisition! I’m a doula, but midwives, physical therapists, mental health specialists, massage therapists, etc. were all there. We are all frequent in the same Facebook group where we do a lot of the same problem solving, referrals, etc, but it was so nice to happen in person. And I know the newly expectant parents learned a TON
