I was on a Call with @Jeffrey Saathoff and he asked me "what is the 1 thing that I can do to learn Spanish I have books, movies and everything" And I said «Listen and Speak» But he said that he had no-one to speak to… I bet there are lots of people in here that want to practice their language but they don’t know with WHO If you are looking for a language buddy or you want to practice your language with somebody else then write down your language in the comments and hopefully you can find your language buddy Act FAST before someone else takes your language budy

(takes 2 min max :) right here 𝐃𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞 The skill of metacognition when learning a new language is very important and I heard this term that I liked a lot called the RIDE acronym from one of my professors named Luke Rowe It stands for: Retrieval practice - Basically bring knowledge back once you start forgetting it from the long term memory to the working memory and this builds and helps with storage and it also improves the accessibility component which is epic Interleaved practice - Mixing up study and randomising it. Solve different problems with different solutions. To mimic the randomisation of real life. Life doesn’t come at you in sequence it comes at you in any direction Distributed practice - Space your learning apart and over a period of time to maximise the memorization of the word Expert deliberate practice - Have expert practice, be concerned at the attention to detail and a ferocious appetite for more knowledge
