Feeling silly.
Never realised how bad I am at counting until I had to count 3 second negatives while counting to 12 reps. 🧐😬

RPE & RIR
This is a measuring tool to gauge how hard we’re working, or how close to fail we’re working in our sets. You don’t need the go hard or go home approach. It’s better to periodise effort, just the same as we would in our training. Gradually, over time, you expose yourself to harder work, higher effort, more volume and so on… Week 1 - 7/10 or 3RIR Week 2 - 8/10 or 2RIR Week 3 - 9/10 or 1RIR Week 4 - deload / reassess / send it We will discuss deloads on another day. Please put in your questions, or anything you would like to discuss further 👇👇

Today I really had to fight the urge to go off program with a little devil sitting on my shoulder whispering to me "go on max out you know you want to" I didn't. But let's say there was a week to cheat on program would we look at week 3 or 4 say program called for 3 reps but you try an amrap instead? I have A very difficult time telling what my rpe is. I think something is an 8 but turns out I had 5 RIR
How do you learn?
We all learn differently, so I want to know the best way you guys learn. Are you a visual learner? Do you learn by listening? Are you a reader / writer? I would say I’m a combination of listening & visual.

Weekly wins... Was pretty happy with how deadlifts are feeling. School holidays kids have been coming to work with me that feels great just hanging out shooting shit. Got to play a round of golf on sunday and I didn't completely suck so seeing improvements there.
Hi.
I watched a video on a study that was done recently that I thought was pretty cool and would share with you all. So they done a study on cognitive performance in relation to university students who have started going to a gym regularly. Not surprisingly they seen an increase I'm general learning, problem solving etc all round abilities. But what I found interesting was when tested during the time that the student would usually be in the gym they seen an even further increase. So it's like our body clock gets used to between the hours of X and Y we are going to exert ourself and switches on. So of you're studying or need to get a large workload done schedule it for around the time of day you woukd usually be in the gym. Anyways I'm Tyson, nice to meet you Terry's Technique fam. 😀
