Local Book Signing
How do book signing work? I am wanting to reach out to my local book stores to see if they would host a book signing event but how does the commission of sales work? Do I bring my own books in and sell them via Zelle/Venmo/Cash/etc.? Does the book store get any payments from the sales? Any and all comments welcome if you have done this before. Feel free to share your experiences.

Children’s Books + Stickers
Authors, quick question — anyone here making stickers for their children’s books? 👀 Because I’m seriously considering it… partly for the kids, and partly because I definitely won’t be keeping half of them for myself 😄📚✨

I had Sticker Whisper make my stickers. I have both dogs on the sticker with the TikTok name. I give them out free to gain followers where I promote the book. 😉

@Paulette Ng I used different pictures. First round of stickers I uploaded a picture of my dogs to ChatGPT and had it turn the picture into a cartoon. The second set of stickers I used the picture from my book. I used Stickerwhisper.com and uploaded JPG file. I added a text to my picture to their TikTok page (since I don't have a website yet).

Has Anyone Had Success Promoting Children's Books on TikTok?
Does anyone use TikTok to promote their children's books? If so, could you please share your experience?

I have all the socials: TikTok, FB, Instagram, YouTube, X, Pinterest, and Threads. I am not sure how any of these help but I keep posting new things as much as possible. I add in the link to Amazon or Barnes and Noble for the book. My book just came out "live" on 2/20/26 so it hasn't been a solid month yet to see if it's working. But I will keep moving forward.

@Paulette Ng You are silly 😊but whatever you do I am sure it will be great. I literally work a fulltime job as a construction accountant and I post my book on all the socials during the day. On weekends or so I try to post videos of the dogs, since they are the stars of the book. It's been quite fun actually. I also made stickers with Iggy and Penny and I pass them out with their TikTok link on it. If you have your socials already made, friend us so we can also pass on your book. Iggy and Penny currently have 2100 followers and counting each day 🙂 @Iggy.and.Penny

Pen Name Advice
Does anyone have advice on pen names? I’m a bit torn currently because I actually go by my middle name as my first and last name are common. I could use my middle name but unfortunately it’s spelled like wine and so I don’t know if that’s fitting for a children’s book. I have also thought of making a publishing company name but idk I’m over-researching and digesting content 🤣

I really thought about going with a Pen Name because I did not want my last name printed. But I ended up using my first and middle name.
