About Page Conversion
My About page has a conversion rate of 38.6%. Is this the norm?? Where does yours sit? What have you done to increase conversion whether you're running ads or not? (I'm not personally).

@Calvin Hollywood I'll definitely check out your about page for inspiration. I appreciate the perspective of being selective. There's been arguments for bringing more quality targeted people to the about page and having a high conversion rate there, but then also this argument where the about page potentially does more of the heavy lifting. Either way, it's quality or over quantity - which is ideal. You obviously want the people who you'll be able to serve best and who will therefore engage and get the most transformation out of what you're providing to them in that community. Thanks so much!
🏆100 Members! What's the next step?
I've reached my first milestone with my piano group, reaching 100 members! Facebook ads have been the main driver of sign ups, but I've got a few from Skool itself. My group is free to join at the moment, with a free starter pack, but I also have a low ticket offer in the classroom, and I'm currently uploading my full course. Here are my thoughts on how things are going, but I would love some feedback on what I should focus on next ✅ Engagement My members are on the older side, and many aren't commenting on posts, or posting themselves. Also, hardly anyone is actually checking out the starter pack in the Classroom even though it's clear in my Facebook ads and About page that they can access it for free. I've just created an auto DM asking what song they would love to play on the piano. This should hopefully spark a conversation and make them feel more comfortable in the community. Is this a good strategy? I've also created a detailed onboarding video showing them how to post, comment etc I'm also running weekly coffee chats, which should be a great way to build trust with my members. ✅ Monetization Of the 100 or so people who have joined, I've made 2 sales of my full course, even though it's not hosted on Skool yet, but I think these people knew me from before. No one has bought my low ticket offer. But it could be because they don't know how to use Skool or the Classroom. a) Should I switch to a freemium model once my course is uploaded? I'm a little scared that it may bomb and I don't get any takers. I plan on having a monthly Q&A session for paying members, but if I only get 1-2 buyers, it hardly seems worth it! b) Or should I keep growing my free group for a while first? c) Or finally, should I go for a free trial and run Facebook ads for sales? Decisions, decisions... Any advice would be great!

@Arowosola Wuraola yes, definitely!
Classroom Discounts
If I create a course/product in my community, am I able to also create a discount code? I'm jumping on as a guest speaker and am thinking of offering a discount code to their audience for a paid product.

@Arowosola Wuraola Hello, thanks for your response. I'm asking if I can do discount codes on a course in the community, not if I can run ads to the plans or about page. Thanks though!

@David Iya Yeah, I think I'll just create a page inside my Library of Resources and link it back to my Kit account. At least for now. Thanks!
Treat this like a business, not a hobby
If your goal is to built your Skool community into something that could potentially bring you in enough money to retire your spouse or parents, buy you a house, stay home with your family (or anything else), then you need to be treating it like a legit business. 📋 Build a plan (or as much of one as you can while you're experimenting with what works and what doesn't) 📋 KEEP EVERY SINGLE RECEIPT - if you're ever audited, you need to back up every expense that you say was business-related. If not? HELLO penalties! And the gov't is NOT gentle... oh, and upload the receipts to your accounting software if you're using one. It's a cloud backup that is worth the two minutes to upload! 📋 Track your numbers! You should know exactly how much you're spending vs bringing in - not to scare you or upset you at the beginning of your journey, but so that you can see any negative or positive patterns that might be coming up and adjust (or perhaps celebrate because you hit a money goal you didn't think you were close too yet). I don't personally care if you're on the Hobby plan or the full plan or not. I'm on the Hobby plan, but I know where I want my community to go, so I'm treating it like it's *not* a hobby. This is my business (one part anyway). What do you think has been your biggest expense so far in business??

@Joseph Moses.G because the back-end of a person's business is typically not considered s3xy or anything to get excited about. However... I obviously disagree because the amount of growth possible when you know that where you're wasting money and can invest it somewhere else to bring in more leads or get a nicer website etc... its - your growth is only limited by how you understand your numbers. And my messaging probably isn't as effective as it could be to get my excitement across lol

@Tameera Corporal these topics aren't "sexy" so they're typically forgotten about. They are!
Ad Conversion
Anyone else struggling (at least at the beginning) with conversion from Ads? I’ve been running Instagram Ads now for about a week and have seen a few thousand views, a 1500 link clicks to the about page on my community and no conversions at all (even with a 7 day free trial & I’ve reduced the price of membership to well below what I think it should be). Appreciate social proof is a thing that comes into play but at this point it feels like throwing money into the void. Anyone overcome this sort of thing?

I've definitely been there. I don't really have anything to offer except that which was passed along to me; make sure your program is validated first. I was advised to promote my group organically first to make sure it's wanted from my audience before putting my (limited) funds behind it. So, talking about it on my socials, maybe reaching out to people I know are my ideal audience to ask if they'd beta it for a reduced price. If they say no, say that's perfectly okay but ask why not (so that you can get feedback on it). It even ask your someone in your audience what they get from your about page. Hope this helps!!
