THE GROOVES 🏀🕺🟰
One of the smallest details in your shot can make a HUGE difference. Take the time to line your shooting hand up with the grooves/seams of the ball. Find your natural hand placement, feel that connection, and then REP IT until you don’t have to think about it. Why? Because your hand is the final link in the shooting chain. Your fingers control the ball’s final direction, spin, and release. Research has found that variability in backspin alignment is strongly related to lateral shooting error — meaning the more consistently you can reproduce your release, the more predictable your shot becomes. The goal isn’t to stare at the ball and perfectly place your hand every time. The goal is to practice it so much that your hand finds the groove automatically. That consistency can help you create a smoother connection with the ball, a cleaner release, better control, and a more repeatable shooting motion. And look at the greatest shooter of all time, Steph Curry. His shooting hand consistently finds a centered position on the ball, with his fingers working around the seams before he goes into his shot. He’s not thinking about it every time. He’s trained it. That’s the difference. Don’t just practice making shots. Practice making your shot repeatable. Find your grooves. Rep them. Feel them. Own them. If Steph does it, you should too. 🎯 Trainer: @Logan Hinton, a former 5 year pro across three countries. Train Like a Pro!

Finger rolls
I am trying to master the finger roll finish, but I don’t know any techniques. I’ve watched some videos, but didn’t help as much. Got any advice?

GO-TO MOVE 🏀
Every player needs one. Not 20 different moves. Not something flashy just for the sake of looking good. A move you KNOW you can get to. When the game gets tight, the clock is running down, and you need a bucket, you don’t want to be thinking about what move to try next. You want something that’s already in you. Your go-to move should be: • Something you’re comfortable with • Something you have confidence in • Something that fits your game • Something you’ve practiced over and over again • Something you can create separation with and consistently get your shot off That last part is HUGE. A move isn’t your go-to because it looks good in an empty gym. It becomes your go-to because you’ve repped it enough that you trust it when it matters. Research on motor learning and performance under pressure supports this idea: accumulated practice and experience can influence how well athletes execute skills when pressure is added. The goal is to build a movement pattern that becomes reliable enough that you don’t have to consciously think through every part of it when the game speeds up. (PubMed) That’s why your go-to move needs to be practiced with intention and repetition. Same move. Different angles. Different defenders. Different speeds. Different situations. Get so comfortable with it that when you need a bucket, your confidence doesn’t come from hoping the move works. It comes from knowing you’ve done it thousands of times. Find your move. Rep it. Own it. Then trust it when the game is on the line. 🏀🔥 Trainer: @Logan Hinton, a former 5 year pro across three countries. Train Like a Pro!

Appreciation
Hey Guys, no crazy post today. I went to the dentist and I’m pretty out of it lol. I just want to take time to say thank you. Thank you for your support, thank you for sharing your stories and daily wins, thank you for helping grow the community, but most importantly thank you for being YOU. You guys make this the best community on Skool. I was having a conversation today about how much time I put into this community and how I haven’t made a single cent. I don’t care about that at all, I care about you guys, I care about helping you get better and achieve your dreams. That’s my why, it’s you guys. Seeing you share your big wins makes it all worth it. I just wanted you guys to know how much this community and you mean to me. I’m so proud of each and every one of you! Look you got Unc all emotional 😂🏀 What is something you’re appreciative for?

SUPPORT & CELEBRATION 🏆
I was already hyped after winning the dunk contest… but having a swarm of my guys run over and celebrate with me made the moment that much more special. That’s what a team is supposed to be. It’s not just about who scores the most points or who gets the spotlight. It’s about the teammate who picks you up after a bad game. The teammate who believes in you when you’re struggling. The teammate who celebrates your success like it’s their own. Support creates trust. Celebration creates connection. And connection creates teams that are willing to fight for each other. Research in team psychology consistently shows that positive teammate interactions, shared celebrations, and recognition can strengthen cohesion, motivation, and a sense of belonging. Those things matter when the game gets hard because teams that trust one another are more capable of communicating, staying resilient, and working toward a common goal. And it doesn’t have to be a championship. Celebrate the dunk. Celebrate the hustle play. Celebrate the assist. Celebrate the defensive stop. Celebrate the kid who finally hit the shot they’ve been working on for months. Celebrate the small wins together, because those moments build the culture that leads to the big wins. When you’re facing a difficult challenge, knowing the guys beside you have your back changes everything. Championship teams don’t just have talent. They have support, trust, accountability, encouragement, and celebration in their DNA. Be the teammate who makes everyone around you better — and make sure you celebrate them when they do. 🏀🤝 Team > Individual. Always. Train Like a Pro!
