I'm Back
Hello everyone! I'd like to apologize for my absence. I was sick for about six weeks and got out of the habit of getting on our group. It was taking all I had just to make videos. Then it was hard to get back into the swing of keeping up with all your messages. Anyway, I'm back now and expect to be on here daily. Look forward to chatting with everyone.

Tool Review
Anyone in the market for a benchtop style jointer? If so - I just got one and have been extremely happy with the quality and performance. I'm guessing a lot of us are in a similar situation with limited space in our workshops so a big ol' floor standing jointer is a big commitment. People sometimes scoff at benchtop jointers because they wont be as accurate/straight/true whatever on long stock. I get that, but I got this new benchtop jointer and have been super happy with it! The model I got is the 12 inch spiral cutter head benchtop jointer with cast iron tables from Cutech (cutechtools.us). It has some supports to hold longer stock inline with the beds and I think that really helps it punch above it's weight class when it comes to straightening/flattening long stock. The super wide bed is awesome too! Spiral cutterheads are a fantastic upgrade compared to straight blades and this one performs wonderfully. It leaves an incredibly smooth surface. I was also super surprised, and this might not always be the case, but mine came perfectly level/coplanar right out of the box! Anyway - just wanted to share this brand with you guys since I hadn't heard much about it before I got this tool. I would highly recommend!

very cool filming and editing! Plus you didn't over complicate the stool. That was a fun video to watch!
What's Everyone Working On?
I'd love to see more of you posting your projects. We want to see what you're working on; share in your triumphs and tragedies. Preferably more of the former and less of the later.

Finished my son's bed. It has stairs with drawers under them for storage, a slide that's probably a bit too steep, but I guess it'll toughen him up 😂, a lofted play area, LED lights, and a bookshelf that is a secret door to a small room under the slide for him to hang out and read books or draw or whatever he wants to do. Huge project that took a long time but my dad came and helped a bunch and it turned out really dang cool if you ask me.

What Are Your Questions?
Hey everyone, I assume you've seen our video shorts on YouTube, or one of the other social media platforms. If not, search for "Sawinery" on YouTube. We've currently got well over 100 shorts posted. We're using those as a platform to teach people woodworking techniques and share ideas. That's where you come in. Do you have any questions that you'd like Rich (yeah, me) to answer in those shorts? We're always looking for good ideas and would love to be able to answer questions that our members might have. In the mean time, keep making sawdust out there. We all need to have our daily requirement of sawdust fulfilled.

Do you have an easy way to clean saw blades without buying one of those green things from Microjig?

also, how do you know when your router bits are dull and either need to be cleaned or replaced?
