One of the latest bowls I've been working on.

I finally got my Christmas projects video up and running. These are 5 projects, some of which are rather unique, which I think will sell. If you're still working on stuff for the local Christmastime crafts fairs, this video might be just what you've been looking for. But then, if you're just looking for some Christmas woodworking projects for home, family and gifts, it will work too. I'm giving some of these as gifts.

As the guy that built them, I saw so many flaws to the point I almost told the client I’m going to go get some pre made boxes. But in the end they were extremely happy with them and I realized I’m more critical of myself than anyone else will ever be. Guess that’s why we are all here right, to get better? Had a church commission me for one so now I’m on the hook😬

Got tired of replacing canopy over hot tub every year or so. The Boss approved the purchase of material as long as she got a copper roof. I had assistance with the first 6x6, then all me from there on. Left access to slide tub out when we moved.

Actually maybe this wasn't the first thing I was proud of, but it was certainly the one that made me most proud in terms of how challenging it was. I built a set of bar stools from hickory and elm. It was an interesting project, trying steam bending wood (for the backs and seats) for my first time. Steam bending required finding a local sawmill that had air (not kiln) dried wood. And I used hickory for strength of the structural elements. It was the most challenging woodworking project I've done to date, because all the pieces were curved or joined at an unusual angle, and the folding joints need to be really strong!
