Discussion Question: Seeking Wisdom vs. Understanding
Proverbs 4 teaches us that wisdom is the principal thing, but we must also get understanding. Wisdom is knowing the truth; understanding is the perspective of how that truth applies to our lives. We may have the wisdom to know God is there, but we need understanding to see how His timing is working for our good right now. Discussion question: It is easy to have the wisdom to say 'God is in control,' but much harder to have the understanding to feel peace while waiting. How do you practice 'getting understanding' when you're in the middle of a waiting period? What helps you see His hand when the clock seems to be moving slowly? For the full devotional, visit The Daily Joy Journal in Classroom.

Waiting is extremely difficult. I love what Laura said, reminding ourselves He has gotten us thru before helps us remember he will do it again. I like to listen to music and read my patriarchal blessing to remind me that he has helped me in the past.
The Cost of the "Divided Eye"
Science tells us that multitasking is actually just "context switching," and it lowers our IQ in the moment. Spiritually, a "divided eye" leads to a dark, heavy soul. When we choose to focus on God’s kingdom first, our vision clears, and the "draining" feeling of a slow day begins to lift. For the full devotional, visit The Daily Joy Journal in Classrooms.

I love this! Never thought about multitasking in that way, but it makes sense. ❤️
Out of Tune vs. In the Master's Hand
The poem The Touch of the Master’s Hand describes an old violin, battered and scarred, that the crowd thought was worthless—until the Master played it. Sometimes we feel "drained" because we feel like that old violin—out of tune and overused. We don't need a new schedule; we need the Master's touch. The crowd saw a battered violin, but the Master saw a masterpiece in waiting. When you feel 'battered and scarred' by life's demands, how does shifting your focus from your 'worthless' feelings to the Master’s perspective change your outlook? For the Full Devotional, visit The Daily Joy Journal in Classroom.

Lately I have very much felt the "battered and shattered" by life's demands, more so than ever. What's fascinating to me is that when I feel that, the spirit will whisper the name of someone who I should send a text to. It usually leads to a conversation that gets me out of my head, and being able to help that person in a way I wasn't expecting. Do I listen everytime...no, but the times I do listen, I remember the outcome to help me for next time those feelings come up.

Discussion Question: The Power of Being "Kept"
In verse 24, it says, "The Lord bless thee, and keep thee." In the original context, this "keeping" refers to a hedge of protection or a shepherd guarding his flock. In a world that often feels chaotic or unpredictable, what does it mean to you personally to be "kept" by a loving God? Does it change your perspective on your daily anxieties when you view Him as a guardian who is actively "keeping" you?

I love these pictures! I too feel and see the "keeping" around our home. I like to believe that we have angels surrounding and protecting our home, that the Lord has sent to us when we ask. That brings me so much joy and peace when I think that Heavenly Father is wants to send angels to us to protect us.
