Glaze roulette
Hi lovely potters. My studio move around is now complete and my glazes are in their new homes so I’d really like to join in with the glaze roulette challenge if anyone few of you could pick for me. My glazes are arranged on 2 sets of shelves. Amaco are on the left set, spread over 2 shelves, top shelf 3 rows across,3 deep, 2nd shelf 5 deep and 4 rows and 2nd and 3rd row are 2 glazes high. 7 jungle gems are also in a row on the 2nd shelf. Mayco are on the top and 2nd shelves. Top one has 4 rows of 4 glazes, 2nd has one row of 6 glazes and 1 of 3 glazes. 3rd shelf is Spectrum, 5 rows, mostly 5 deep. Thanks

@Bel Quigley that looks gorgeous 😍 well done on the application.
The big reason for my trip
Grand kids! It's Aero's 3rd birthday. He wanted donuts. The younger one is Kodiak, Kodiak for short. My daughter, Kitty, made the cake from scratch.

@Pat Webb my youngest was obsessed with Thomas and trains. That’s a great setup. 💙

They are both adorable. 🥰
I DID IT!!
I did it, y’all! My friend, who is a beautiful, brilliant, kind woman, asked me to make her a chip and dip. I said yes because my toxic trait is “I can make anything” 😅 Well, I had never thrown one before, and she specifically wanted the divisions so she can put taco toppings in each section. I struggled! First, my bats were terrible (they were a type of board that I thought would be great to use, but instead never released the clay!) I failed there twice before deciding the bats were the problem. Then I threw another one, but the places where I attached the separations kept cracking, the bowl was too leather hard for the attachments, I guessed. So then I made another one, but with shrinkage, it ended up far too small—she wanted something BIG! And then, I made one that I thought was perfect, but the middle section was far too thin on the bottom and it cracked. Cracked in half at the glaze fire! So here, my grand finale, is the last chip and dip with sections that I will ever make 😅🤣 My friend is a big fan of bright and bold colors, often seen wearing a tie dye or ice dye garment that her amazing mother hand-makes for her. I know this was a great learning opportunity. However, I only persevered because I love this person! This was the most clay I’ve ever thrown, it is around 11 pounds of reclaim. I did: Honey Flux all over x3 Then x3 splotches and waves of: Spectrum Cactus, Floating Turquoise, Tiger’s Eye, Bougainvillea, and Amaco Smoky Merlot. Then some splotches of Honey Flux x2 in random locations on top. What do you think?! Did I hit the “tie dye look” target??!!

Meet Henrietta and Harry
Me and my friend Carla had fun in the studio with Maxine’s tutorial to make turtles! It was amazing. I hope I remember name of Carla’s girl correctly lol The couple need to patiently wait to dry now. Week is enough u guys think or more? Maxine’s tutorial is amazing! I am not sure if she is visiting here but if yes. Thank you! I will share after glazing, hopefully the couple will survive 💕
