Hi everyone
I'm Tove. I work in Bodø, Norway with the SEA-EU (European University of the Seas Alliance) at Nord University, and I live in Turku, Finland. Much of my professional life has been focused on Education for Sustainable Development, meaning bringing people together across countries, cultures, and disciplines. Over the years, I've become increasingly curious about what helps us create meaningful change, not only in organizations and systems, but also within ourselves. The Inner Development Goals resonated with me because they give language to questions I've been exploring for a long time: How do we build trust? Or in other words safe spaces? I am especially interested in how inner development can support collaboration, leadership, learning, and the courage to work across differences. Through my work in international higher education, I've seen how important these capacities are when people come together to address complex challenges. Outside work, I love being in nature, hiking, traveling, sharing good food, and having conversations that help us see ourselves and the world in new ways. Living in Finland while working with European colleagues gives me a daily reminder of how much we can learn from different perspectives and ways of being. Like many others, I don't have the answers. I'm simply trying to understand how we can show up more consciously, compassionately, and effectively in a world that often feels both beautiful and complex. I'm grateful to have found a community exploring these questions together. I'm looking forward to learning from you, sharing experiences, and connecting with fellow explorers on this journey. 😊 Best regards, Tove
How authentically are you living?
Authenticity has been on my mind lately. It's one of my personal values, and I'm curious about what it really means to live authentically. As an educator and coach, I've listened to many people who have spent years pursuing external achievements. For some, achievement was how they learned to receive love, acceptance, or recognition. So they followed that path, often becoming very good at meeting the expectations of others. Yet, over time, many begin to long for something more: a deeper sense of personal fulfilment, purpose, and connection with who they really are. I've seen how self-reflection, new experiences, and frameworks like the Inner Development Goals (IDGs) can help people reconnect with themselves. One person, for example, found that combining self-reflection with life as a digital nomad helped them experience more joy and less depression. But becoming more authentic isn't always easy. It can mean finding the courage to speak our minds, even when we fear rejection. It can mean navigating group situations where we feel we don't quite belong, questioning the expectations we've been living by, or searching for a sense of purpose that feels genuinely our own. So I'm curious: How authentically do you feel you're living today? 🗳️ Choose the option that best reflects where you are right now.
