If you missed Day 1, you can catch up here. (←click). We're going through the beginner's sewing course together. New tasks are posted every 3 days, and we'll sew a project together once everyone has complete task 2 (day 2). Task 2 : Your next task is to build some confidence in front of your sewing machine! Before we dive into a project, give yourself a chance to warm up and see how your machine is behaving. Practicing a few stitches helps you spot (and fix) issues early. Not sure what all those functions and stitches mean? Find the Machine Functions + Stitches video with downloadable PDFs HERE >>>MACHINE FUNCTIONS AND STITCHES<<< Most “machine problems” are usually one of these: - Incorrect threading - Wrong or blunt needle - Dust and lint build-up ❎Tension is rarely the true culprit, but if you need to adjust it slightly, I’ve added a tension video for you to watch. >>>SEWING MACHINE TENSION<<< ___________________________________________________________________________________________________ 🌱 HOW to practice? You can print the PDF stitch practice sheets if you like, but I recommend using fabric scraps. Fabric moves and behaves like the real thing — paper doesn’t. Use a contrasting thread so you can see what’s going on. And if you’re nervous about sewing straight, I’ve added a video with tips.
