I'd like to share a song that I listened to after todays daily morning meditation: "This is the Day" by Jaya Lakshmi https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0qiAlfP1BWM I like to bask in music after meditation as part of my morning ritual where I can charge my body and mind with positivity. My practice is such that as soon as I begin to gain awareness of waking from sleep, I try to keep myself from fully waking and reach for my water bottle with eyes closed, take a little swig, and relax into Transparency (you may have read about this from one of my previous posts :) This usually starts with a few deep breaths, followed by relaxing my attention to what is arising in my awareness and accepting it, without judgment or desire to change. This eventually leads to a complete relaxation of my body, mind and steadiness of emotions. I don't know how to describe what happens next, but the experience is a kind of dissolving of myself into a state of pure loving awareness, where I become the ocean that holds the waves of manifestation. Here, there is no future, no past... just the truth of eternity. After a few moments of this, or sometimes it's just a short flash, my awareness returns to my body and there lingers a sense of perfect health, of every cell in my body radiating with the pure light of eternal love. As I come back fully into my body, I put on my headphones and turn to a playlist of songs that I've collected that reflect what I might be feeling. Often, I come out of meditation with a strong sense of gratitude for being born again to a new day, a new potential, a new opportunity experience this miracle of life. This song by Jaya Lakshmi reminds me that we are more than our thoughts, more than our feelings, more than our bodies... and that every day is an opportunity to Surrender into the Presence of Light and Beauty that we truly are.
