💊 Painkillers: Medical Use vs Addiction
Painkillers can save lives. After surgery, injury, or chronic pain, they’re a tool to help the body heal. Used as prescribed, they relieve suffering and support recovery. But here’s the truth many of us know first-hand: ⚠️ That same pill can also become a trap. ⚠️ Numb the pain too long, and it starts numbing YOU. ⚠️ What began as medical use can slide into dependence, cravings, and addiction. I’ve seen both sides. And the line between use and abuse isn’t always clear when you’re in it. 👉 Let’s open this up: - Have you had to use painkillers for medical reasons? - Did you struggle with the line between healing and habit? - What helped you stay in control - or break free? Your story could be exactly what someone else here needs to hear today. ⚔️

Few years ago, I got injured in a martial arts tournament by my instructor. If you ever seen the film kick boxer, I was demonstrate in point score with my instructor, despite his belt and experience, I managed to get courage to body slam him few times. Didnt like that so he elbowed me precise in my back. Unknown then. He damaged a number of discs in my back. Had to be carted off. I was out commission for months. Lucky i was able to walk.During that time, addiction is easily to slip into you dont even realise. To get me through my job, mine is a physical one. Two paracetamol, two ibuprofen can a red bull. Slowly this increased to point I was popping pills like candy and drinking red bull like water. Unknown to me,, I was walking slightly dragging my leg. In mean time still training heavyto get back in the ring, masking the pain with pain meds by that stage did moved through the food groups, codamol, tramado, garapenntin. Doing god knows how much damage. It was only a kind manager at work who noticed the limp. Immediately helped. Got me mri scan through work, arrange time off, physio, some cognitive therapy to help me process reasons for pain medication and amount taken and through both their help, cleaned up my act. All years later, very wary taking pain killers, but the methodology therapist gave was does it hurt, do you need it, can you resolve it another way first, sounds simple but by rewiring my mind response to pain it helped. Physio exercises i was given i do and carried on all through my life now,but created a thirst for knowledge and understanding i researched and discovered more methods, that I can not only fix myself I can now help others with exercises, techniques I've learnt. Thank goodness uk medication doesn't have opioits in them, God knows if ever kicked the habit. Through kind act of one of my managers made difference in my life! With hind sight as I get older you have prospective and all knowledge and methods I learnt I now pay it forward in honour of the manager who helped me.

Caffeine and energy drinks
Hi, so as I get older, I wondered how many people are dependent on pre work out supplements, drinks or energy drinks before a training session, as im looking to reduce my dependency on this stuff. Anybody else on here recommend methods that work for them to get focused for training and keep them amped while training? Just curious
🌱 Sunday Reflection Post
One of our people asked me this powerful question: Will make a video on this this week, BUT I want to hear from you...FIRST 👉 What’s the best way to deal with trauma? It’s stopping me from moving forward in life mentally. We’ve all carried battles, some scars you see, others you don’t. But what makes this community powerful is that your story, your lessons, and your resilience could be exactly what someone else needs to hear today. 💬 So today I want to ask you: - What has helped you face or process your own struggles or trauma? - What advice would you give to someone who feels stuck and can’t move forward? Your words could make someone feel less alone and give them the hope to keep fighting. 🛡💪 Drop your thoughts below ⬇️, let’s turn our pain into power and help each other grow.

As I always used the mantra " one day or day one"...the fight continues. here is a song i listen to daily...here are the lyrics. Hope it inspires as it does me When you feel like quitting, remember all of those who said you'd fail When you feel like giving up, remember why you started When you feel like quitting, remember what you're doing it all for When you feel like quitting, remember pain is temporary And greatness lasts forever When you feel like quitting, remember that the pain you feel today Will be replaced with the strength you need tomorrow Remember that every ounce of pain you feel is building a stronger you A stronger body, a stronger mind, and a stronger character So push through the pain Don't let it stop you Force it to grow you Don't back down from the pain Face it, feel no pain, there is no pain That painful last rep, that's nothing Give me more, push harder Too tired, too hard, too busy Too early, too stressed, no excuses Too tired, no excuses Too hard, no excuses Too busy, no excuses Too early, no excuses Too stressed, no excuses When I feel like quitting, I remember There's too many people I need to prove wrong When I feel like quitting, I remember I have too much to fight for, I will not quit Sleep ins, they're for grandmas I'm up, I'm ready to go Quitting, that's for those who have no heart I do not quit Your greatest physique, your greatest health Your greatest strength, it doesn't come with average effort If you want average results, keep rocking up and giving average effort If you wanna be at your best, you will have to give your best effort Make an oath to yourself That you will not walk out of any training session, any game, anything Without giving 110 percent of your soul Whatever you think is your limit, push pass it Whatever you think is your max, see if you can get 10 percent more out Results don't lie It all comes down to one simple question How bad do you want it? And when you feel like quitting, give me ten more Nothing great is going to come if you quit
Inspiration
Hey everyone my first post. Hopefully it works. Its funny really, I downloaded this song as part of my come back trail from illness and injury, last two years...and I always imagined it was Mr King aka the shadow man saying these lyrics, long before his comeback to social media! It still kicks my ass and inspires me. Hope it helps you all out too! As I always used the mantra " one day or day one"...the fight continues. If song doesn't work...here are the lyrics. Hope it inspires as it does me When you feel like quitting, remember all of those who said you'd fail When you feel like giving up, remember why you started When you feel like quitting, remember what you're doing it all for When you feel like quitting, remember pain is temporary And greatness lasts forever When you feel like quitting, remember that the pain you feel today Will be replaced with the strength you need tomorrow Remember that every ounce of pain you feel is building a stronger you A stronger body, a stronger mind, and a stronger character So push through the pain Don't let it stop you Force it to grow you Don't back down from the pain Face it, feel no pain, there is no pain That painful last rep, that's nothing Give me more, push harder Too tired, too hard, too busy Too early, too stressed, no excuses Too tired, no excuses Too hard, no excuses Too busy, no excuses Too early, no excuses Too stressed, no excuses When I feel like quitting, I remember There's too many people I need to prove wrong When I feel like quitting, I remember I have too much to fight for, I will not quit Sleep ins, they're for grandmas I'm up, I'm ready to go Quitting, that's for those who have no heart I do not quit Your greatest physique, your greatest health Your greatest strength, it doesn't come with average effort If you want average results, keep rocking up and giving average effort If you wanna be at your best, you will have to give your best effort Make an oath to yourself That you will not walk out of any training session, any game, anything
