Lost in Pricing
I'm consulting for a small company that wants to move to Fabric. I am NOT a Fabric designer - it's why I'm here, to learn as much as I can. I need to write a proposal that includes cost estimates before I begin work. After a bunch of searching, a couple of AI chats, and a chat with a MS sales rep, I can't get a clear answer. "F64" pops up often but only because it's the size of the trial solution. I have a couple of small Synaptics DBs that I want to mirror in OneLake, join a few tables, add some columns, create a few Power BI dashboards that are filtered based on login & role (RLS), then embed the dashboards in a customer-facing web app, backed by Microsoft Entra ID. I didn't think this required so much brain damage to get a cost estimate. Please point me in the right direction. Thanks for any assistance!

@Diana Geyer Thank you. I'm still new to this and all advice is welcome. I understood the F SKUs started to allow Embedded without additional license at the F64 level, but lower than that, either additional Power BI Pro or PPU licenses are required (within the organization), or licensing specifically for Power BI Embedded (customer facing iFrames). Do I have that wrong? For context, my client is throttling costs - the dashboard will be accessed for only a few dozen clients, over less than 50GB of data from IoT devices. As the client base grows, so will capacity.

@Salil Athalye My comment to Will above references this. It's a little disappointing that I have to build to see how much capacity it uses...so i can estimate a cost to build it. If I build it, and find out it's too expensive, then the time, effort and consulting fees invested to build it are wasted.
Power BI Licenses for Fabric
Hi, I'm Sam from London and I work as a Power BI Developer/BI Specialist for a Financial Services Company. We currently use Power BI extensively across our organisation, mainly pulling data from our Data Warehouse using SQL (Azure). I am really interested in a lot of the Fabric capabilities within Power BI, specifically Co-Pilot and Data Activator, as I think it could bring a number of tangible benefits to our company. However, we are currently on Pro Licenses. I would like to understand what licenses people would recommend to upgrade to so we can get the benefits of Fabric?

@Arlette Slachmuylder Thank you for the link! What did you run into that made it "a little tricky"? I'm comfortable with data management, but new to Power BI Embedded. I need to solve the customer-facing side of reporting, especially how to filter report data based on user login. Any help is appreciated!

Hello! I'm nomading around the US, currently consulting for a medical device company with streaming IoT device data. My last several years focused on machine learning and data analytics, with some experience in Power BI. The company uses Microsoft Azure as their main platform, and needs to expand their customer facing, real time reporting. I'm learning as much as I can about Fabric to see if it's appropriate for their scalability and reporting needs. Will's YouTube videos brought me here!
