What is your dream member count for your club!?💌✨
If you had an ideal amount of members to join your club, what would that number be? (you don't have to have a club to answer, we're dreaming here ✨)

Back from the dead and feeling behind...
Ok guys I'm feeling much better after a crazy few days, to recap I had the flu, one the worst I've experienced...I had a 103 fever for days and in the midst of that I had to help my friend and her 10 month old find a women and children's shelter to stay in, which is actually WAY harder than it should be it took 3 days and buying hotels rooms and calling people...anwayssss Taking my first "time off" from this whole art business journey that I started 8 weeks ago, feels weird and slightly stressful and I wanted to make a post amongst our little group here in case anyone feels the same. In our current climate there's a huge emphasis on social media, speed of growth, and consistency which I'm fine with!! It's how marketing works now and if you try to fight it you probably won't be successful. However...What I'm going to try very hard not to do is to let those "rules" takeover my life and define my self worth. This sounds DRAMATIC but I'm a very all or nothing individual, If I have streaks, I don't like to break them, If I have goals I usually do EVERYTHINGGGGG in my power to reach them. This is not always a good quality, especially in this instance because when days come up where I'm not able to post on my Socials or in this community, I feel I have failed, I lose motivation, I lose my rhythm and I feel like I'm "behind". So I had to remind myself that although I may be my own "boss", I don't actually have one!! THAT'S SO COOL!! Plus I'm pursuing my passion which NEWSFLASH -> I'm meant to enjoy it!!! If I'm behind I can apply for an extension and it will be approved, because I'm the only person I answer to right now. I hope someone else can relate to this, I'm excited to get back at it!!!

It's good seeing you and I hope your friend is doing better or at least is safe.
Fighting the flu 😭😭😭
Hi guys!! I just wanted to let ya know that I haven’t been active on here because I’m currently sick with the flu 😷 The weird thing about being your own boss is you feel bad when “calling out sick” haha. I’ll be back with updates on my print club journey soon!!!

I think I may be right there with you. I had my flu shot but my kid has been home with the flu all week and today I feel miserable.

@Ría Suri Studio you too! Thank you.
Seems like being an artist is more screen time than creating time 🎨
It's now 9:30 EST and I have not yet painted, drawn, or designed anything... I suppose if you count content creation (filming + editing) you might say I was being creative; I however just feel like my eyes are going to fall out from looking at a screen all day, and like I wasted a ton of time. But I didn't!! I got a lot of things done on my laptop that I've been meaning to do! Why does it feel unproductive? Can anyone else relate?

I do, but I also think anytime I'm not actively up cleaning my house or physically doing something, I feel like I wasted time. Mine stems from a childhood of having my mom get us up early to clean the house, and if I sat around too much, I was told I was wasting my life.

@Ría Suri Studio I get bored in the shower apparently. 😆
Why I'm buying a printer...with no print orders...😅💌
Ok so I've been doing a lot of research on outsourcing prints verse investing in your own printer. As a tiny art business who hasn't made any sales yet, you may be wondering why I would even consider dropping hundreds of $$$ on a printer with no print orders yet! So let's talk about it! So firstly, I decided that I will be printing on demand in the beginning of selling prints! if you don't know, that means printing only when there's an orders placed as opposed to keeping a large stock of prints in your inventory. This makes more sense for me since I don't have guaranteed print sales coming in, and If I outsourced a large stock of prints, I could end up losing money if they don't sell well ( Fine art prints are PRICEY!! ) Secondly, I'm starting a print club that will include letters, coloring pages, and stickers, so even if I was outsourcing my prints for the club, I would still need to purchase a regular cheaper household printer. Assuming I'm successful in gaining members to my club, I would be going through a decent amount of ink, and because most standard printers run on cartridges, replacing them constantly can get EXPENSIVE. So I would want to buy an EcoTank. Thirdly, ordering processing time. For print orders, I would prefer to send them myself. Many artists like to do this so that they can add goodies to the order, write a thank you card and use their customized packing materials. So FUN!! To do this when outsourcing means the customer places the print order on your site, you then place the oder to the print service, it takes around 5 business days to get to YOU, you the pack + ship it and then it takes even LONGER to get to the customer. I don't know about you guys but whenever I'm ordering something online and it says estimated arrival time is in 5 - 10 business days, I'm immediately turned off. We live in a time of amazon prime and instant gratification...unfortunately😅 So all that to say I have come to the conclusion that hurting my pockets a little bit more now, will save me time and money in the future....what do you guys think?! Would you wait to buy one until you saw print orders coming in?

I have had an ecotank printer for 2 years and I have replaced the ink 2 times. However it is good to remember 1. A good printer is great but if you buy cheap paper it won't do you any good. 2. Make sure you understand the difference between RGB and CMYK colors. 3. Once you get your printer colors adjusted, write the information down somewhere safe. I print all my stuff and as long as you buy quality paper no one will know. The bad thing about printing all your own stuff, is time. Every thing you print will take longer than a print shop. Anything requiring cutting...like memo pads, notebooks see how much time it takes to make one. Then multiply that by your orders. If it takes you 25 mins to print and glue one memo pad and you have 15 orders, it will then take you 6 hrs and 25 mins. If you are making $6 a memo pad...you are working for $4.16 an hour. Your time is valuable.

@Malin Palm I have a Canon G6020 ecotank. It has a rear and bottom feed. Handles thick paper really well and the print quality is superb.
