What do you do when you're in a "funk"?
We've all been there before... Nothing is going right in your day. You aren't happy. You aren't motivated to do anything. You don't want to make dinner or get off the couch. Your house is a mess. You might even get invited to hang out with a friend. The list goes on. This isn't a fun place to be in but we've all been there. So what do you do? When this happens to me, I've learned I have the quickest turn around to becoming happy and motivated to do things once I forget about My problems and focus on someone else. For me, this could mean helping my wife with something or maybe one of my kids, or especially a neighbor needing help. Every single time I go to help someone, the task is usually pretty minimal and fast, AND I usually have more success in doing what I need to get done that day, faster, meaning I am able to help someone and still get done what I needed to get done. Call it what you will, but the act of serving others really has the power to change the outcome of your day for the better because you're worrying about someone else and their problems. Hopefully they are grateful after the help but if not, you at least did your part and you'll be blessed for Your efforts. I've always come home a better person after having helped someone in need and my family benefits from it. Here's to more happy days ahead!

Did you know...Teenagers can actually be helpful? 🤣
Wanted to share a video from this past summer when we were at a week long camp. We noticed one of the toilets was running all night long so we helped one of the teenagers learn how to fix it themselves! It was a pretty cool experience....serving and teaching. When have you been surprised by what a Teenager was able to accomplish?

this is what i specialize in is helping teens to do and be more than previously thought capable. Good job for spending time with them. This is critical to this correct Gen XYZ. i am constantly pushing my teen girls we have currently (foster dad) for those that dont know. And i am consistently trying to catch them doing good. this builds that behavior you want to see.

Oh I have my days but I still mess it up too.and yes I do take them but not often enough.
What project are you working on this weekend?
We will see how our weekend goes but I am building a window framed insert for our friends basement window. Instead of sheetrock, he wants plywood so it will be more durable. He also wanted something stronger to attach to because he's hanging up blinds inside his window frame. I've never done a project like this so it's going to be fun trying something new. What about you?

@Brenda Jean Adamson I have used bagster from lowes or depot for small decuttering jobs or a dumpster for the bigger jobs. Good luck. If you feel up to it, do some before and afters. Even if you dont share them that can be really satisfying!!

@Brenda Jean Adamson now one thing to know.the fee from lowes or depot does not include disposal. That is a fee that waste management charges on top. So just call them and they will tell you what the pick up and disposal fee will be. An put it somewhere that is accessible to them (with a small boom truck) but not in your way. It takes a minute for them to pick it up
When you Start a DIY project...
What would you say is your #1 setback anytime you start a DIY project? Materials? Timing? Timeframe? Skillset / Knowledge? Weather? Workspace? Tools? Mine would be proper planning. This is something I have to Force myself to do Every Time I start a project. When I get an idea and I just go right into it, I always create more work for myself. Maybe I forgot a second part I needed at the hardware store. Maybe I forgot everything I already have planned for the day, week, month. What would you like to learn more of in this community from the categories above?

I was shocked when I felt inside my back pocket!
Wanted to share a funny story from last week. I was ice fishing with my kids. We had the best time! Each of my kids caught two fish and were having a blast. We've never had that kind of success before! Each fish we were going to keep, we would put on top of the ice until we were ready to leave. We ended up keeping 8 fish to bring home and cook. As we were packing up, I looked in my tackle box and started to get worried. I couldn't find a rope so I could string the fish together to carry back to our car. I started to search franticly because I didn't want to carry them by hand. I checked my front pockets...nothing. My leg pockets...again nothing. Then I checked my back pocket and felt something but couldn't remember what it was. As I reached in to grab it, a lightbulb went off in my mind. I then pulled out one of my Infinity straps from Modl Infinity tools. I was smiling from ear to ear because I could almost guarantee no one has ever used one of these straps to string fish together. Within a matter of minutes I had all of our fish strung together and we were on our way. I can't count the number of times these simple Infinity Straps have made something hard, become very easy. I personally feel every DIY'ers toolbox should have some of these! You can check them out here: https://modl.com/ucanbuildthis What is one of your favorite "go-to" tools?
