Dahab April 2026
One more thing I want to highlight to all of you who might think about the trip but are unsure... My last breath holding before I joined the course was long long time ago.... BUT During the course I have learnt so many things I didn't know... Equalisation Packing Negative packing Etc. In the end I was able to improve my static breath holding on land from 4 minutes to 6 min. I'm not telling you this to brag but to show what is possible! And in relation to Dahab there is a preparation course over 6 weeks included so you'll be ready when you arrive there... ๐Ÿ˜€

Dahab April 2026
I just signed up for next yearโ€™s trip to Dahab, and Iโ€™m so excited!!! ๐Ÿคฉ๐ŸŒŠโœจ Iโ€™ve been to the Red Sea beforeโ€”at Wadi Lahmi Azur Resortโ€”and it was absolutely amazing. Warm, crystal-clear water, tons of colorful fishโ€ฆ pure magic. And now I canโ€™t wait to experience Dahab! The deal for this trip is incredible: โ€ข 6-week preparation course โ€ข Option to get a PADI certification โ€ข 4-day desert tourโ€ฆhonestly, what more could you ask for at this price?! As someone living in a landlocked place, this feels like the ultimate escape. To those of you who have the ocean as your personal bathtubโ€”consider yourselves very lucky! ๐ŸŒŠ๐Ÿ’™ Counting down the days already! Looking forward to diving with you!

Your thoughts on an exercise?
Renee, and all the pros out there, I have a question about an exercise that I like a lot but have no idea if it makes sense or not. I developed it out of box breathing and another exercise. 4 seconds inhale - is constant Hold, exhale, and 2nd hold begin at 4 seconds but increase 1 second each round Example 4, 4, 4, 4 4, 5, 5, 5 4, 6, 6, 6 ... I go all the way up to 4, 20, 20, 20 and then all the way back to 4, 4, 4, 4 The hard part begins for me at about 15 going up and ends at about 10 going down. The reason why I have a constant 4 second inhale is, because the original exercise calls for equally long inhales but those kill my spirit because the slow inhales are extremely hard for me... So what do you think? Hot or not? And why? Looking forward to your answer. Cheers Martin

Renรฉe, Thank you for your extended feedback! It is very interesting to read, inspiring, and highly appreciated! Haha, the sentence made me laugh: breath work should challenge you, not break your will to live. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow! Maybe a friend of mine is participating too ๐Ÿ˜€
๐Ÿ† November Apnea Squats Challenge โ€“ Winner Gets a Prize! ๐ŸŽ
Letโ€™s have some fun this month and turn up the heat - literally. Iโ€™m excited to announce our newest challenge inside the FreedivingX communityโ€ฆ ๐Ÿ† The Apnea Squats Challenge ๐Ÿ† This oneโ€™s not just for bragging rightsโ€”itโ€™s an AWESOME dry training drill to prepare your legs for constant weight diving and dynamic apnea in the pool. Youโ€™ll build COโ‚‚ tolerance, leg endurance, and mental control, all in one powerful breath. And yesโ€”thereโ€™s a prize for the winner with the most points by the end of the challenge. ๐Ÿ’ฅ How It Works Youโ€™ll perform the Apnea Squat Protocol as shown in the attached video To enter, record your attempt and post your video in this group. ๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™€๏ธ The Steps 1๏ธโƒฃ Sit down and start with a static apnea breath-hold on a chair (minimum 60 seconds). 2๏ธโƒฃ After your static, stand up and do as many squats as you canโ€”each must reach at least a 90ยฐ angle. 3๏ธโƒฃ Your breathe-up = tidal breathing + 2 purge breaths + 1 full inhale. No more than that. 4๏ธโƒฃ You can hold longer than 60 seconds if you want (pro tip: a 2โ€“3 min static can seriously boost your score). โšก Scoring System Your points = ๐Ÿซ 1 point per second of static breath-hold ๐Ÿ’ช 5 points per squat Example: โ€ข 90-second static + 15 squats = 90 + (15ร—5) = 165 points ๐Ÿฅ‡ Challenge Badges Earn your FreedivingX color badge by hitting these milestones: ๐Ÿ’š Green Badge โ€“ 200 points ๐Ÿ’™ Blue Badge โ€“ 300 points โค๏ธ Red Badge โ€“ 400 points ๐Ÿ’› Gold Badge โ€“ 500 points Post your video + total points in the comments to enter! ๐Ÿ’ซ Tips If your static is strong, use it! A longer hold means more points. Just remember, no less than 60 seconds static to qualify. You must wear a nose clip for your attempt to count (this keeps it fair and consistent for everyone). Film your attempt clearlyโ€”your squats must be 90 degrees and visible. Letโ€™s see who can stay calm under pressure, power through the leg burn, and walk away with the Gold Badge glory (and a mystery prize ๐Ÿ‘€). Whoโ€™s in? Drop a comment below if youโ€™re joining the challenge!

Bummer! I was hoping that my nose clip would arrive in time - but they have delivery problems - so unfortunately no attempt and no video. did anyone send in proof? @Danny Effinger - what about your gold medal Danny??? ๐Ÿ…๐Ÿซฃ Hope you are all ok and enjoyed the training as much as I did!? y'all dive safely out there! cheers Martin
