The Real Reason Meditation Is So Powerful
According to the Akashic Records, meditation is one of the greatest cornerstones of spiritual ascension because it gradually changes your identity. Most people believe meditation is about becoming calmer, reducing stress, or improving focus. While these are beautiful side effects, they are not its deepest purpose. The deeper purpose of meditation is to help you remember who you are beneath the mind. It is not a practice of becoming someone new. It is a practice of removing everything that has convinced you that you are someone you are not. One of the greatest misunderstandings about meditation is that people believe they are trying to stop their thoughts. According to the Records, this is not the goal. The goal is to stop unconsciously identifying with every thought that arises. Before meditation, a person hears a fearful thought and immediately believes, “I am afraid.” They hear an angry thought and believe, “I am angry.” They experience anxiety and conclude, “This is who I am.” Meditation slowly creates space between awareness and experience. Eventually you begin to notice something remarkable. The thoughts are changing. The emotions are changing. The body is changing. Yet there is something within you that has remained constant through every stage of your life. Meditation introduces you to that unchanging awareness. The Records often compare the mind to the surface of a lake. When the wind is constantly blowing, the water becomes disturbed and cannot clearly reflect the sky. The sky itself has never disappeared. The reflection is simply distorted by movement. In the same way, your true nature has never left you. The mind has simply become so busy, reactive, and identified with its own activity that it cannot clearly reflect the deeper reality beneath it. Meditation does not create truth. It simply allows the turbulence to settle so truth can reveal itself. As you continue meditating, something else begins happening that many people mistake for failure. Old emotions begin to surface. Grief, anger, fear, sadness, loneliness, shame, and forgotten memories may suddenly arise. Many people assume meditation is making them worse. According to the Akashic Records, the opposite is occurring. These emotions were already living within the nervous system. Daily activity simply kept them buried beneath distraction. When the body finally feels safe enough to become still, those unfinished emotional experiences begin moving toward the surface to be acknowledged, felt, and integrated. Meditation is not creating emotional pain. It is creating enough safety for healing to begin.

@Victoria F indeed. So developing a practice that helps you remain focused in the present is key. Gratitude practices and meditative practices are both ideal for this pursuit.

@Victoria F you are not struggling with discipline. I’d venture to say you probably brush your teeth daily. That’s discipline. You just don’t see it as such because you have already decided that it’s so important you don’t give yourself the option not to do it. It’s a choice. Your struggle is with what you deem as necessary or important. So the habits you want to be more “ disciplined “ in, aren’t being adopted because some part of you believes you’ll be fine without doing it. To understand better just look back at the brushing the teeth analogy.
Why You “Should” Be Cautious Of Using The Word “Should”
If you are a student of mine or if you’ve ever signed up for coaching with me you already know this lesson. Take heed: According to the Akashic Records, the word “should” is one of the most revealing words in the human language. Not because the word itself is inherently negative. But because it often reveals the relationship between reality and expectation. The Records suggest that whenever a person says “should,” they are frequently expressing one of three things: A preference. An attachment. Or a judgment. Most people are unaware of which one they are expressing. The Neutral Use Of “Should” Let’s begin here. The word itself is not the problem. For example: “You should drink water if you’re dehydrated.” This is simply practical. No spiritual distortion exists. The Records are not concerned with vocabulary. They are concerned with consciousness. The deeper question is: What energy is hiding behind the word? “Should” And Resistance To Reality The most common spiritual consequence of “should” is resistance. The moment we say: “This shouldn’t be happening.” We create conflict with what already is. Reality says: This is happening. The mind says: It shouldn’t be. Suffering is often born in the gap between those two positions. The Records frequently describe suffering as: Arguing with reality. Not because reality is always pleasant. But because reality is already here. The Hidden Judgment Many uses of “should” contain an unconscious judgment. For example: “He should know better.” “She should be more mature.” “I should be farther along by now.” Notice what is implied. A comparison between what is and what the mind believes ought to be. The judgment may be directed: Toward others. Toward life. Toward oneself. But judgment is often present. The Violence Of Self-Shoulding According to the Records, one of the most destructive forms is: “I should be different.” This is the ego attempting to improve itself through rejection. Many seekers live here. I should be more spiritual. I should be healed by now.
