Difference between Focus and Tasks
I just had a thought this morning and figured I’d ask for direction instead of assuming. Are tasks what we hope to accomplish as in I will be able to check a box next to it (like putting away my clothes or going to the gym)? Then would a focus be what I want to be conscious of throughout the day (like making connections or bringing joy into my interactions)? I ask because today I was writing and my “focus”items were more about what I wanted to focus on getting done today (like finishing a presentation) then I stopped and thought 🤔 that’s a task isn’t it?

Hi there. I live in Woodstock (where the movie groundhogs day was filmed) but I am from Danville, IL (where Dick Van Dyke is from). I enjoy writing and listening to music as a spiritual/ meditative practice. I’m currently working on balance and crafting consistent daily practices to scale and grow without full out exhaustion mode or high stress burnout phases.
First Task
It has been an interesting morning - I am already discovering some things as I've kept track of what I have done since waking up... decided to keep track of everything, not just the first 2 hours, and I'm seeing what Tiffany said about "time wasters" - though it isn't social media, it's meeting the demands of other people. I'm thinking about how it might be useful to make a plan to get up earlier, since as soon as the next person wakes up, I have things to do that weren't planned for. Wow, this is going to be great!!!

Of course my activities in the morning while tracking have been way more abnormal than most but I am seeing how easily my mornings are thrown off by work fluctuations and family illness/ emergencies. Like I said, it’s a house of cards with like THREE cards. 😆
