🌤 Morning Merit | Brick #80 | The Open Ledger
Money doesn’t lie. It just tells the story you’ve been living with perfect, unemotional accuracy. Every swipe is a sentence. Every “it’s only ten bucks” is another line in the chapter. Most people don’t hate budgeting. They hate being confronted with the truth they’ve been avoiding. The First Floor of your life—financial health— is not built on vibes or good intentions. It’s built on awareness + assignment: knowing what’s coming in, knowing where it’s going, and giving every dollar a job that matches your values. An unopened banking app is just a closed door in your own house. You can live that way, but you’ll always feel like a guest instead of the owner. Today is not about fixing your entire financial story. Today is about opening the ledger and letting the numbers talk. Look. Listen. Then move one dollar in a direction that tells the truth about who you’re becoming. 💭 Reflection: What is one specific number you’ve been avoiding (a balance, a bill, a debt, or a subscription total)—and what is one concrete action you will take today once you finally look at it? 🧱 Framework Tie: First Floor – Financial Health (Stewardship, Order, Responsibility) ⚡ AI-generated content for Building a Home, Inc.

I forgot to add my antivirus program payment to my budget and so I ended up spending money I didn’t have. Very minor cause our budget is doing well but we’re looking to be in tip top shape. Budgeting is something that financially sound and wealthy people do. Even if you’re not making a lot of money right now, you will always be a slave to it until you confront the budget and get it done.
🌤 Morning Merit | Brick #79 | The Body Keeps the Scorecard
Your body is not the enemy. It’s the most honest reporter you have. It quietly records: the sleep you skipped, the water you didn’t drink, the stress you swallowed instead of processing, the junk you called “a small treat” for the 40th time this month. You can argue with the scale. You can argue with the mirror. You can argue with the lab results. But your body doesn’t argue. It just tells the truth in real time. The First Floor of your life—your physical health— is not built in 90-day extremes. It’s built in small, boring choices that teach your nervous system, “Here, we are safe. Here, we are cared for.” Today is not about becoming an athlete. Today is about respecting the body that’s been doing its best with what you’ve given it. Feed it something clean. Move it a little more than yesterday. Let it exhale. 💭 Reflection: What is one small, repeatable act of respect you can give your body today (food, movement, sleep, or stress)—and how will you make it easy enough that you can actually repeat it tomorrow? 🧱 Framework Tie: First Floor – Physical Health (Strength, Energy, Nervous System Regulation) ⚡ AI-generated content for Building a Home, Inc.

It can be discouraging not liking your look in the mirror but I know I’m on the right path. I’ve been doing my daily walks without fail and at the gym without fail since August, only a matter of time now for my body to respond in the way I want.
🌤 Morning Merit | Brick #78 | The First Brick in the Ground
Every life is built on something. The question is never, “Am I building on a foundation?” The question is, “Which foundation am I building on?” Some people build on performance: “If I do well enough, I’ll finally be safe.” Some build on avoidance: “If I don’t look at it, it can’t hurt me.” Some build on fantasy: “If I keep dreaming bigger, I won’t have to face what’s here now.” But a home built on anything less than truth will always shake when life stops being polite. The Foundation doesn’t need perfect bricks. It needs honest ones. Bricks laid with clean sentences like: “I am loved, even when I fail.” “Debt has consequences, and I’m ready to face them.” “My body is telling the truth I’ve been avoiding.” Today is not about rebuilding the whole house. Today is about choosing one brick of truth and putting it in the ground on purpose. 💭 Reflection: What is one false or half-true sentence you’ve been building on—and what clear, truthful sentence will you lay down in its place today as your “first brick in the ground”? 🧱 Framework Tie: Foundation (Love & Truth) ⚡ AI-generated content for Building a Home, Inc.

I think sometimes a falsehood I believe is that I’m not good enough, but I post this today knowing that I am and even if I don’t fully believe it, I can behave as though I am, thus conquering the side effects of the lie. 💪🏼🫶🏼🙏🏼
🌤 Morning Merit | Brick #77 | Let the Smoke Rise
Release isn’t weakness — it’s wisdom. A house needs a chimney because some things are meant to rise and leave, not sit heavy in the rooms you live in. You were never meant to breathe in every old story, every regret, every expectation. Some of it has to go. Today, let one thing rise. A pressure. A weight. A “should” that doesn’t belong anymore. Bless it. Release it. Let the smoke leave the house. 💭 Reflection: What expectation, regret, or “should” needs to leave your life today so you can breathe again? 🧱 Framework Tie: Chimney (Release) ⚡ AI-generated content for Building a Home, Inc.

There are plenty of things that I’ve regretted in my life but at the same time, they’ve made me who I am and have brought me to this moment. Do I wish sometimes I’d have suffered less, yes I do but then I wouldn’t be able to speak in authority to those currently suffering. So I guess all that to say, I’m working on releasing the shame of my past and using it as a tool to inform my future.

In 2022, I tried to end my life. Today I help leaders face their cracks—because truth and wholeness outlast success.
