Intro
Hi everyone, I’m Thomas from Mauritius. I started playing rugby when I was 8 years old, and now I’m 23. I play as a winger, fullback. After Covid, I didn’t play rugby seriously for a while. I moved to France in 2022 and didn’t get the chance to play there either. Today, I’m back in Mauritius and have started playing again because I really missed it! I had the chance to represent my country at junior level somes times, but to be honest, my lack of work ethic and dedication held me back from pushing myself to the senior level. I know I needed to put in more effort and commitment. Looking back, I regret that a lot, especially when I see teammates I played with growing up achieving great things. I’m proud of them and shout their names in the stands everytime they got the ball, but I also can’t help thinking to myself: that could be me one day if I truly commit. I don’t mean to sound arrogant my goal isn’t to compare but I genuinely want to get better. 💪 I’m here to grow, not only as a player but also as a teammate. I want to push myself, improve my overall skills, and contribute to the team in every way I can. 🤝

@Etienne Ferrat To be honest, I don’t really know where to start! Of course, the first step is to train as much as possible on the pitch and avoid missing a single session. But I believe the most important starting point is to work on my mindset because once the mind is strong, the body will follow. We all know that the brain controls the body, not the other way around. So from my point of view (not saying it’s the best one and would love to exchange about that ), if my mindset is focused, disciplined, and positive, then my body will naturally respond and perform at its best. 🧠 That doesn’t mean I can skip the physical work,I still need to push myself outside of training by running, hitting the gym, eating better every day, and taking care of recovery. But the way I see it, everything starts with the mental side. I want to set small, realistic objectives every day, because those little daily wins are what lead to bigger achievements in the long term 📈. Step by step, by combining a strong mindset with consistent effort, I believe I can build the habits and discipline I need to truly progress.
What should we build next ? (I want your input)
My only goal here is to build a club that gives you exactly what you need to get better. To do that, I need to know what's on your mind. Your input is super important for where we go next. I have two simple questions for you: 1. What is the #1 thing you want me to create a new module or course on ? (e.g., a specific position, clip breakdown, leadership, nutrition, etc.) 2. For the classrooms, would you prefer it video based, text based or a combination of both ? That's it. No idea is too small or too "stupid." Drop your thoughts in the comments below. Let's build this thing together.

1.Pre-game mindset:💆‍♂️ We all know rugby is as much mental as it is physical. The way we prepare our mindset before a match often defines how we perform once we’re on the pitch. That’s why I think it would be valuable to create a sort of “base mental preparation routine” for game day. Every player has their own rituals, but if we share what works, we could build a set of strategies to help everyone stay calm, confident, and fully focused. It’s not about copying it’s about creating a foundation of tools we can all adapt. 🤝 This could include things like: -Visualization of key moments (first tackle, first carry, decision-making under pressure) -Breathing or focus exercises to calm nerves and sharpen attention -Positive self-talk or mental cues to boost confidence -Music or short routines to trigger the right emotional state -Quick team rituals to strengthen unity and energy 2. I think both video and text formats would work perfectly. Videos could show techniques in action, while text could break things down step by step for easy reference. That way, we can learn, test, and adapt these routines in the way that works best for us. i think that it's important to step onto the field not just physically ready, but mentally switched on :clear, confident, and hungry to play our best rugby. 💪 🏉

1.Post Game mindset : 💆‍♂️ We often focus a lot on how we prepare before a match, but what we do after the final whistle is just as important. Win or lose, it’s easy to get stuck replaying moments in our head missed tackles, wrong decisions, or even the high of a big win. If we hold onto these feelings too long, they can affect how we train and how we show up for the next game. That’s why I think having a clear after-game routine could be really valuable. The idea is simple: reflect, reset, and move forward. My best example is, in Ted Lasso, Coach Ted tells a player to “be a goldfish ,” highlighting that goldfish have extremely short memories. The point? Forget mistakes quickly, reset, and focus on the next opportunity ! 2. To make this really useful, both video and text formats could work perfectly. Videos could show practical exercises for mental reset or reflection, while text could give step-by-step guidance to apply right after a game. That way, everyone has tools to learn, reset, and stay focused on what’s next. 🤝💪
