Weather modifying expected generation
Is there a simple way to weather adjust data (roughly) to be used for 1,000s of Residential assets clustered in a very small Region? We have monthly performance reviews and the same question comes up? Why was last year batter than this year? Etc… and the answer to all these questions is likely a column with some basic weather adjustment/month. Wanted to get thoughts as this would change my life! Cheers!

@Marios Theristis I am yes, thanks a lot! I would love to collaborate if we could. Let me know what you think. Thanks so much for the information!
Tier1
Don´t you have the impression that we are overwhelmed with Tier1 products all over?! Despite of existing Bloomberg definition of Tier1, I have the impression that many of the market players have self-declared their Tier1 status. Somehow similar to star-rating in the hotel industry. On the other hand, it can be that some of the "ordinary" module makers might be even better quality than many Tier1. So the question is: Does "Tier1" have any specific meaning for you? Is that the decision-driver?

@Andreas Iliou great point! Most financiers I come across want Bloomberg Tier I, but have been starting to get folks to work with me through mods based on PVEL ratings and other tests/tech. Bloomberg Tier I is definitely the old school go-to. Personally some good some bad!
What are you seeing with early-stage leads?
Do you think homeowners today prefer to research solar quietly on their own first, or do they still want to speak to someone early in the process? I’m seeing mixed behavior and I’m curious what you’re seeing in the field :)

@Che Oomes sales is always an ehh subject with me and residential solar in the US. I have been exposed to far too many companies taking advantage or the elderly, ripping people off with bad deals, etc. If I was an homeowner interested in getting solar, I would want to talk to a non-sales solar Person 1st. Then find the solar folks you want to work with. As us folks in O&M, it’s a 20+ year commitment… similar to a marriage or mortgage!

@Andreas Iliou I look forward to that opportunity! No rush! It will be my absolute pleasure!
Stray currents
https://youtu.be/lDm00Ww6qE4?si=BcPzdIm5RgjQSal9 The ongoing problem of mine in "unenergized Transformers" but checking Earthloops already 60- 3000 mA can be measured. Overheadlines and buried kV Lines can "emit" high leakage or stray currents into your parallel aligned substructure from modules or Earthing wires .... It can distract Mppt Controller and startup of Inverters especially during wet/rainy conditions

@Andreas Iliou this was always in the back of my mind. I used to play soccer in my best friends back yard that backed up to HV lines and we played underneath. Interesting point regarding stress. I thought, how could this be true with houses so close to the lines? How much I have learned since I was a naive young buck 🤣
