Are You Actually Training, Or Just Watching Videos?
If you've been watching the videos but not sure how to actually drill the material on your own, that's not on you. That's on me as your instructor. Teaching technique online without teaching you how to train that technique effectively is like handing someone a recipe without telling them how to use the kitchen. So I'm fixing that. I'm building a dedicated "How to Train" course specifically for this community and it's going to cover everything I should have given you from day one: - How to structure an effective solo training session - How to drill technique alone and actually build real skill - How to work with a partner who has no martial arts background - How to use the heavy bag as a genuine training tool not just something to hit - How to track your progress so you know you're actually improving This is the foundation that makes every other course in this curriculum click into place. Coming soon! Here's what to do right now while you wait: 🥋 Weekly Challenge - open to ALL members. Jump in this week if you haven't already. One focused skill, designed specifically for home training. 🥊 Panantukan Heavy Bag Workouts - Premium members get a new structured workout every week. Your solo training anchor until the full How to Train course drops. Not a Premium member yet? This is exactly the kind of content your membership unlocks and there's more coming every week. Now I want to hear from you! What's your biggest challenge when it comes to training on your own at home? Drop it in the comments. Your answers are literally going to shape what goes into this course. Talk soon, Guro Bob

Actually, I train. I use mostly Panantukan videos to spice up my solo boxing session. I watch stick drills but I work in priority on the drills a learned in seminar
Is a stick a good self defense tool?
I found this video to be very good at explaining some considerations for using an impact weapon like a stick for self defense. What do you guys think?

A good self defense weapon is a weapon you have when you need it. Sticks are good at that. In France, the "canne de combat" (walking stick fighting) was developed on this purpose: in the XIXth century, walking stick was a common EDC.
This week's challenge! Footwork & Sticks
Double stick and triangle footwork are staples in our Kali training system. This will enhance balance, dexterity, mental focus, body mechanics and cardio health. Let me know what you think and if you have questions. Even better...video yourself doing it!

@Bob Heinemann thanks! To be honnest, I took me 10 attempts to get through that switch! 😅

Very well! I don't practice FMA on a regular basis, it's about 4 seminars a year. So I leave with a 3 months work! Lucky me, I'm natural southpaw, so I'm pretty used to work my "bad" side with partners. But understanding the lineage in FMA is quite something!
What's Your Warrior Code?
Hey folks! Hope you're all doing well and getting your training in. I've been gone with my fiancée on an "accidental" vacation (long story) so I haven't been able to shoot anything but I have been thinking about important concepts, one being the "Warrior's Code". What are some principles that you think make up a warrior's code? What do you aspire for in your day to day life that reflects your code? How do you see martial art as a facilitator of your code?

I start martial arts when I was 8yo, it's not a hobby, not a sport, it's a way of life. A way to make better humans. Justice: stand for what is right to you. Honor: the word given is priceless. Kindness: strong one have to protect the weak. Courage: fight outer and inner foes. Integrity: act to be proud of yourself everytime. Balance: debts have to be paid.
