I am still walking on cloud nine from meeting so many amazing people in person at the New York City Experience Mastermind in Atlanta and talking back and forth with them. Something that has come up is that they have already impacted my life so much just by their presence, living by their values, and seeing their virtue. I think that we forget that people are watching and people are observant of how we behave and how we act. Your behavior will impact others and when you're a leader it all begins with you and your example is seen. I am grateful for all of the leaders in this room. Ask One More Question Here's your challenge for today. At some point today, someone is going to tell you something and you're going to believe you understand what they mean. Maybe it's someone on your team explaining a problem. Maybe it's a customer telling you what they need. Maybe it's someone disagreeing with you. Before you respond, ask one more question. Not because you weren't listening. Because sometimes we start forming our answer before the other person has actually finished giving us the information we need. Your question doesn't have to be complicated. “What makes you say that?” “What am I missing?” “Tell me more about that.” Then listen to the answer before deciding what you think. That's the entire challenge. One conversation. One more question. I've learned that sometimes the information that changes my thinking comes after the point where I thought I already understood.
