You're Invited: A Conversation on Leadership
We're hosting a live call this Sunday at 9 pm EST, and we want you there. You can find this call in the calendar area of the Unified Leadership Academy group. Just click on the link and save it to your calendar. For 30 minutes, we're going diving deep together. We're going to ask ourselves the hard questions about how we lead. Who are we when nobody's watching? What patterns are we repeating? Where are we showing up authentically, and where are we playing small? This isn't a lecture. It's a conversation. It's a moment where we get real about what it means to lead from who we actually are, not who we think we're supposed to be. Put it on your calendar now. Don't let Sunday slip by. Sunday, 9 pm EST. 30 minutes. Just us. We're creating the kind of space where real leaders show up and do real work. That's you. See you Sunday.

You're Invited: A Conversation on Leadership
Know How You Lead
One of the most transformational moments in leadership happens when you stop assuming you know how you lead, and actually look at it. So many of us have inherited patterns from our parents, from our first boss, from fear. We lead by accident instead of on purpose. When you don't know how you lead, you can't intentionally change it. You repeat what's familiar. You manage instead of inspire. You make decisions from old patterns instead of from who you actually are. But when you understand your leadership blueprint, everything shifts. You make clearer choices. You know your zone of genius. You understand why certain people bring out your best and why others drain you. You see your blind spots before they become problems for your team. Most importantly, you lead with integrity because you're not pretending to be someone else. This is exactly why we created the Leadership Self-Assessment Audit. It's designed to help you see how you lead right now, in 20 thoughtful questions across the core areas of leadership. It can be found in the classroom section of the Unified Leadership Academy. This isn't about shame or judgment. It's about clarity. It's about knowing yourself so you can lead on purpose. You'll get scored questions to rate yourself, reflection prompts to think deeper, and a summary page to identify where you want to grow. Everything you need to understand your leadership style is in the classroom. Download the audit, work through it at your own pace, and come back to share what you discovered. We're here to support you.

LEADERSHIP SKILL
Before You Defend It, Explain It Here is something I want you to try today. The next time someone questions one of your decisions, pay attention to what you do first. Do you explain your thinking? Or do you immediately start defending your decision? There is a difference. I have found that when we defend something too quickly, we can stop listening. We are so busy proving why we are right that we may miss the one piece of information that could change the decision. So today, before you defend your position, try this: Ask the other person, “What are you seeing that I may not be seeing?” Then actually listen to the answer. You may still make exactly the same decision. But now you have made it after hearing something you may not have considered before. That is the skill I want you to practice today. Before you defend your decision, make sure you understand the disagreement. Try it once today and come back here. I want to know whether you changed your decision, strengthened it, or heard something you would have otherwise missed.

This is so good. I love that you are taking the time to understand the disagreement. That always makes a huge difference when people are pausing instead of reacting.
Are we outsourcing Leadership
We will be live Friday September 4th @ 8:30 AM live. AI can write the email, summarize the meeting, analyze the data, create the plan, and even recommend what you should do next. But can it lead? On this episode of Unified Leadership, Coach Timothy T.O. Clay and Sifu Rafael ask a question every leader needs to consider: Are we using technology to become better leaders, or are we slowly outsourcing the very things that make us leaders? There is nothing wrong with using AI. We use it. The question is what happens when we stop using it as a tool and start allowing it to replace our judgment, communication, creativity, intuition, and ability to think for ourselves. Here are some questions to think about Are leaders becoming better communicators, or simply producing more communication? Are we using AI to prepare for difficult conversations instead of learning how to have them? If AI recommends a decision that affects your people, who takes responsibility for the outcome? And as technology becomes more capable, what leadership skills become even more important? If you remove the technology, the title, the systems, the scripts, and all the tools around you, can you still lead people? Leadership isn't about being the smartest person in the room
Real leadership is about building capacity in other people. It's about creating an environment where people can grow, take risks, fail, learn, and come out stronger on the other side. It's about being secure enough in yourself that you're not threatened by someone else's competence. It's about values. It's about showing up as the person you're asking others to be. It's about self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and the willingness to do your own work so you're not dumping your stuff on your team. And honestly, it starts with how you treat yourself. You can't lead others well if you're running on empty. So I'm curious: What's one way your leadership changed when you started investing in yourself first?

@Keri Darling I love that awareness so much. It's when you become aware that things actually really start to change
