Leadership Question of the Day
"If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything." ~ Malcolm X Every leader has values. Far fewer leaders have values that survive pressure. It's easy to talk about integrity when business is good. It's much harder when standing by your principles costs you money, popularity, or an opportunity. Character is not built in the easy moments. It is revealed in the difficult ones. Here's today's question. What is one principle you refuse to compromise, no matter what it costs?

This is definitely one of my favorite quotes of all time.
Leadership Question of the Day
"Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth." ~ Mike Tyson Leadership looks impressive during planning meetings. It becomes real the moment reality ignores your PowerPoint. The best leaders are not the ones with perfect plans. They are the ones who adjust without losing their purpose. Here's today's question. Tell us about a time your original plan completely fell apart. What did it teach you?

When I just began my teaching career, I thought that I could just follow the lesson plan perfectly and everything would run smoothly. Very quickly I realized that what you imagine in your head is not always the reality that happens. I got very good at not just having plan A but having plan A, B, C, D, E, F, G, and being able to shift and adapt. That skill has served me very well since.
Leadership isn't about being the smartest person in the room
Real leadership is about building capacity in other people. It's about creating an environment where people can grow, take risks, fail, learn, and come out stronger on the other side. It's about being secure enough in yourself that you're not threatened by someone else's competence. It's about values. It's about showing up as the person you're asking others to be. It's about self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and the willingness to do your own work so you're not dumping your stuff on your team. And honestly, it starts with how you treat yourself. You can't lead others well if you're running on empty. So I'm curious: What's one way your leadership changed when you started investing in yourself first?

I'm Bethany Stone from Idaho and I help leaders build the life skills that actually move the needle. Through Thriving by Nature Coaching, I work with business owners, executives, and growth-minded people who are ready to lead differently. My foundation is Montessori education, which taught me that real growth happens when people feel seen, trusted, and given the tools to figure things out themselves. I've translated those principles into practical coaching around emotional awareness, communication, values alignment, self-care, and personal responsibility. I believe leadership isn't about perfection or having all the answers. It's about knowing yourself well enough to lead others with authenticity. It's about creating space for your team to develop and own their growth. And it's about understanding that taking care of yourself isn't selfish, it's the foundation for everything else.
Show them the ropes
What is leadership if you can not bring someone further and show them the ropes along the way.

Exactly. And I'd add: leadership IS showing them the ropes. Not just telling them where the rope is, but actually walking it with them, pointing out where the knots are, letting them feel the weight of it, teaching them how to use it. If you're a leader and you're not doing that, you're missing the whole opportunity. You're missing your actual job.
