This has Mayco Sandstone on top and Spectrum Muddy Water on the bottom on hazelnut clay by Standard. This Muddy Water is so different than Mayco!

Hello Pottery People! What a wonderful community. I am in Upstate New York, United States. I have always loved the pottery community and this forum that Suza built for us just proves why. I did some pottery as a kid but stopped when I went to college. I have either studied or worked in a “practical” technical field since, burying my artistic side. After hitting my mid-life unraveling, I took a pottery class in 2019 and have been hooked since. I joined my local Pottery Guild (Collar City Clay Guild) and have learned from that community as well. This is day 6 and we finished all wall painting day 5 and painted base coat on all windows and doors day 6 and at the end of the day we started first coat of the clay color in the store area. Tomorrow is probably a day off, if we don’t have so much energy that we’ll do some painting. It depends on my husband and what he’s able to do, due to he’s health issues. Otherwise we’ll see you on Monday the 2nd of February. Have a wonderful weekend ❤️

I’ve been hanging onto a pie plate that I wanted to be very special. I’m not a great artist, but my niece Kara is. She is on bed rest about to deliver a baby this week. So I took her lunch and kept her company yesterday. She sat at the table long enough to letter the saying that I admired in Suza’s recent video. I used underglaze on the decoration and glazed the sides with Ancient Copper. I can’t wait to meet baby Murphy.
