Working from home sounds amazing, but...
Okay, I wanted to share this because it came up in a conversation today and I know SO many of you are either thinking about becoming a VA or are just getting started. Working from home sounds amazing (and it is in a lot of ways)⦠but I think thereās a side of it that people donāt talk about enough. Yes, you get flexibility. Yes, you get to be home with your kids. Yes, youāre building something for yourself. But itās also not the āeasyā route. When you work for yourself, youāre the one responsible for everything. Thereās no clocking in and out and just getting paid. You have to find the clients, do the work, manage your time, and actually follow through. And honestly⦠not everyone is built for working from home. It takes a LOT of discipline, organization, and self-motivation. Especially when youāre used to a 9ā5 where everything is structured for you. At home, there are distractions everywhere. Laundry, kids, life⦠itās so easy to slip into āIāll do it laterā mode. You really have to create structure for yourself. Things like: - Having set work hours - Creating a dedicated workspace - Setting boundaries around your time Those arenāt just ānice to haveā⦠theyāre what actually make this work long-term. And I think one of the biggest shifts people have to make is going from an employee mindset to an entrepreneur mindset. That alone can be a huge learning curve. So if youāre feeling like this is harder than you expected⦠youāre not doing anything wrong. Thereās just a lot that goes into making this lifestyle actually work. Iāll be sharing more behind the scenes of how I structure my days, how I manage everything, and whatās worked for me so you can start figuring out what works for you too. And as always, if you have questions, drop them in the community. Iām always happy to help š¤
