First Principal of AI - You are responsible for AI outcomes
You are responsible for AI outcomes Last month I was in a board room full of executives And someone shocked me when they just straight up said "I asked ChatGPT what to do, and just followed that" And I realized I had a new fear unlocked. Humans lose their ability to critically think when they rely on AI to replace their judgement. AI doesn't make decisions. Humans do. We all make decisions based on information and our experiences. AI can help you get the information faster but you shouldn't rely on it for judgment. And if you're using AI right now...you know it is a people pleaser. I've been calling it a 'say yes machine' for a long time. Because it always does what you ask and tries to give you the answer you're looking for. So depending on how you ask the question Will completely change the answer and recommendation. Business leaders can't blame the algorithm for bias or harm. Engineers must bake transparency into systems from day one. Policymakers need real regulations, not lip service to innovation. We govern machines. Machines don't govern us. Every tool in human history has been wielded by someone. That someone is accountable. No exceptions. No hiding. You are responsible: -------------------- What's a practical example of this... Do not ask ChatGPT if you should work on your marriage or leave your spouse.
