Is it Autism or Mitochondrial Dysfunction?
Did you know that mitochondria affect almost every system in the body? Mitochondria are responsible for producing cellular energy, so when they aren’t functioning properly, the brain, muscles, gut, and immune system are affected. Some symptoms of mitochondrial dysfunction can include: - Fatigue - Low muscle tone (hypotonia) - Developmental regression after infections - Delayed speech - Clumsiness or poor coordination - Brain fog or fluctuating cognitive function - GI problems like constipation, reflux, bloating etc - Frequent illnesses - Sensory sensitivities (sound, light, textures, temperature) - Seizures in some cases The good news is you can improve mitochondrial function by incorporating healthy habits. SLEEP - Maintain healthy circadian rhythm by having consistent sleep and wake times. - Sunlight and red light exposure boosts the mitochondria and enables healing on a cellular level. - Reduce blue light exposure at least 2 hours before going to bed. NUTRITION - Having a balanced diet containing an ample portion of protein and rainbow foods also supports the mitochondria. - Other foods commonly associated with mitochondrial support include: * Oily fish * Eggs * Leafy greens * Berries * Olive oil (for drizzling) * Nuts and seeds * Beans and lentils SUPPLEMENTS - Coenzyme Q10 - Phospholipids - Acetyl-L-carnitine - Magnesium Malate - Vitamin B complex When selecting a supplement, It is best to take advice from your practitioner. @Aisha Shamim it is helpful only when the root cause has been addressed i-e gut dysbiosis, mold, parasites and deficiencies.
Why Minerals Matter for Children with Autism
🧩 Did you know? Minerals are tiny nutrients with a big job. They help support brain function, energy production, sleep, digestion, immunity, and healthy growth. While every child needs minerals, autistic children may be at a higher risk of low mineral levels because of gastrointestinal issues, picky eating or parasites. The Gut-Mineral Connection A healthy gut is important because when the gut is inflammed, children may not absorb minerals as efficiently. Also, picky eating can reduce intake of important nutrients. What About Parasites? A parasitic infection may: * Reduce nutrient absorption. * Cause gut inflammation. * Contribute to deficiencies in minerals such as iron and zinc, because parasites feed on minerals. Key Minerals That Support Health ⭐ Iron – Supports oxygen transport, brain development, attention, and energy. ⭐ Zinc – Important for immune function, growth, wound healing, and appetite. ⭐ Magnesium – Supports muscle function, sleep, nerve signaling, and hundreds of enzyme reactions. ⭐ Selenium – Helps protect cells from oxidative stress. What Parents Can Do 💙 Support a varied, nutrient-rich diet whenever possible. 💙 Ask about testing for nutrient deficiencies when there are signs such as fatigue, poor growth or picky eating. 💙 Use supplements only under professional guidance. ✨ Healthy digestion supports healthy nutrition. Looking after gut health, addressing medical concerns, and ensuring adequate mineral intake are all important steps in supporting your child's overall wellbeing.

Role of Oxalates in Autism
Hi Mamas, Today's call I covered a very important topic, something I have been getting questions about ! The importance of identifying high oxalate symptoms and how to trouble shoot them. I have been getting a lot of questions about Oxalates and right now is the perfect time to address these as more and more of you go through my Signature Gut Reset program ! What are Oxalates: These are crystals that are made in presence of high Oxalic Acid (detected in Organic Acid Test). High Oxalic Acid is directly linked to the fungal load a child carries usually Candida or Mold. Symptoms of Oxalates consist of : - eye poking (their own or yours) - head tapping - head banging - genital stimming (grinding) - body aches or joint aches Have a listen for how you can test for these, what steps to take to metabolize the oxalates safely and what dietary adjustments to make. Leave your comments and questions below and I will answer them ! A Low Oxalate guide will also be added to the community this week to go with the video !

Updates & New Q&A times for Summer
Hi guys, I was given feedback by some UK moms who are missing out on Friday times. I am going to move our Q&A to Mondays 12 pm Eastern Standard Time. So we will be meeting on Monday instead of today so more of you can join ! Also some exciting updates ! - I am delighted to share that I have completed my Clinical Training in Organic Acid Testing directly from Mosaic. This has become the foundation of my 90 Day Program that some of you are enrolled in ! - I am also excited to share that we are offering Nutrition Reviews (under our Clinical Nutritionist - Noor) and an Integrative Health Review (by the Medical Doctor in our team - Dr Haya) as part of my 90 Day Program. We may be over delivering right now with so much value packed in one program for a low cost but I really wanted to build this as something different ! Cant wait to see you all on Monday !

Gut-friendly Lollipop
A sweet treat that reduces sugar cravings and heals the gut? Bone marrow candy does both. I found this recipe recently and I couldn't wait to share it with you all! Ingredients: - Grass-fed bone marrow, as needed - Raw honey, 3 tablespoons - Sea salt, a pinch - Organic unsweetened chocolate, for coating Instructions: 1- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Place bone marrow bones on a tray and roast for about 20 minutes. 2- Remove from oven and scoop the marrow and all juices into a bowl — this liquid is nutrient‑dense. 3- Allow the marrow to cool a bit so it’s safe for blending (avoid adding boiling hot marrow into a plastic blender). 4- Blend the marrow until smooth. 5- Add about 3 tablespoons of raw honey (more or less to taste) and blend again. 6- Pour the mixture into lollipop molds, insert sticks, and sprinkle a touch of sea salt if desired. 7- Freeze for a couple of hours until fully set. 8- Melt the organic unsweetened chocolate, dip each frozen lollipop, and place in the fridge to firm. 9- Keep the finished lollipops in the fridge. Enjoy the most nutrient‑dense candy in the world!
