Estimation and take offs;
I am wanting to get into a career in estimating and takeoffs. I am looking for information on where to go to get enough knowledge to get into a entry level estimator or project engineer position so I can gain experience to move up into a full time estimator position and hopefully a project manager. As I work towards becoming a project/construction manager as my end goal will I need to get licensed or certifications to do those roles?

@Nathan Aulem That’s awesome. Has the position been good?

That is so true. Where I work I take pick tickets which contain the supplies needed after they have done their quantity count and they pull the supplies and make sure they are delivered. I work at a supplier.
What do you want to get out of this community (August)
Hey everybody, thought I would kick off a new post for August. What are your goals for this month and what are you trying to get out of the community? Mine are pretty simple and straightforward 1. Keep experimenting with AI and sharing what I'm learning 2. Keep making a ton of youtube videos 3. Keep learning about construction project management and working out the best way to deliver projects and run a construction business Keen to hear what you're goals are and what you want to get out of the community

My goals for this month and what I’m trying to get out the commUnity are? 1. Keep working on estimating courses through Tim, Procore and other software programs. 2. Keep researching possible smaller companies that I could ask about coming on and learning about estimating. 3. I want to get out of this community is networking opportunities and other leads on where to find education. 4. Also leads on how to connect with and ask smaller companies if they are hiring.
Anyone looking for work in Southern Utah or Michigan
I joined Procore to learn and take courses. I have done landscape and lawn care in the past so I created a page so I could practice using the system. I am still learning. I have since gotten a couple of invites to do bids/proposals in Enoch Utah and one for Grand Blanc Michigan. I am looking for someone I can make deal with for sending them work for now. I can share the contact information with you and you can reach out and see if they are still taking bids. Reach out for more information.

It does but I still have to pay to get premium features which includes a training account
Entry level remote or on site estimator position
I am looking for a small company or any company that offers a remote estimator position or a on site estimator position In the Saint George Utah area that will offer on the job training and help with education and licensing. I am a hard worker, go getter, and learn quickly once shown. I have a few certifications through Procore, and have been watching training videos on Plan swift, Bluebeam, and looking into training videos on Destini. I am looking for a long term company I can get in and grow with for the future. Any leads would be appreciated.
What do you want to get out of the community? (And Welcome)
Hey Everybody A knew month so I thought I’d start a new welcome thread. Please comment and introduce yourself. Let me know what you are trying to achieve and if you have any questions about the resources. If you click on the “Classroom” tab you’ll get access to all the resources. My goal in June is to keep growing my consulting business and focus on re-building my construction project management course. The original is around 9 hours, but the new one I want to be around 30 hours and cover a few more important topics like software, AI and personal skills. Let me know if you have any questions!
