What is your dream member count for your club!?πŸ’Œβœ¨
If you had an ideal amount of members to join your club, what would that number be? (you don't have to have a club to answer, we're dreaming here ✨)

I would like a small number between 20 to 30! Means I wouldnt get overwhelmed, as it's a somewhat manageable number, and I do have other part time jobs, meaning I could do it in my days off without running into problems regarding shipping, due to it being a small number too
Back from the dead and feeling behind...
Ok guys I'm feeling much better after a crazy few days, to recap I had the flu, one the worst I've experienced...I had a 103 fever for days and in the midst of that I had to help my friend and her 10 month old find a women and children's shelter to stay in, which is actually WAY harder than it should be it took 3 days and buying hotels rooms and calling people...anwayssss Taking my first "time off" from this whole art business journey that I started 8 weeks ago, feels weird and slightly stressful and I wanted to make a post amongst our little group here in case anyone feels the same. In our current climate there's a huge emphasis on social media, speed of growth, and consistency which I'm fine with!! It's how marketing works now and if you try to fight it you probably won't be successful. However...What I'm going to try very hard not to do is to let those "rules" takeover my life and define my self worth. This sounds DRAMATIC but I'm a very all or nothing individual, If I have streaks, I don't like to break them, If I have goals I usually do EVERYTHINGGGGG in my power to reach them. This is not always a good quality, especially in this instance because when days come up where I'm not able to post on my Socials or in this community, I feel I have failed, I lose motivation, I lose my rhythm and I feel like I'm "behind". So I had to remind myself that although I may be my own "boss", I don't actually have one!! THAT'S SO COOL!! Plus I'm pursuing my passion which NEWSFLASH -> I'm meant to enjoy it!!! If I'm behind I can apply for an extension and it will be approved, because I'm the only person I answer to right now. I hope someone else can relate to this, I'm excited to get back at it!!!

Yes! I am in the exact same boat! I've had a few crazy days recently, fell off my bike and sprained my knee, multiple doctor appointments and hardcore painkillers πŸ˜… so I'm just resting a lot and wearing a knee support, which has hindered my motivation to make social media content and art.. However, I am going on holiday next week too! So I'm going to see if I can make some little doodles and take some videos while abroad to make up for it!
Please share Print Tips!!!
My printer came in!!! YAYYYY! I ended yup going with the Canon Pixma G620, and let me tell you, I have ALOT to learn... I dowloaded photoshop, set my dimensions, set to 300 DPI, uploaded my file, adjusted my colors, converted to profile, and then hit print....DISASTER!! The colors are all wrong, I thought I understood RGB and CMYK color profiles but turns out my brain is smooth in this department. AND learning photoshop seems like jumping from arithmetic to calculous... PLEASE SHARE TIPS!!!! πŸŽ¨πŸ™

Maybe try not converting the colour profile! When sorting my printing settings out, my original scan was in sRGB and the file was sRGB but my printer uses CMYK Ink, however most printers are made to know sRGB colour profiles regardless of using CMYK, and converting it at the end when exporting it can cause it to have 2 layers of colour profile I think? A miz of CMYK and sRGB. Which is where the colours get mixed up and go wrong! See if that helps maybe?

@RΓa Suri Studio I used Photoshop during college but for my prints currently, I'm using GIMP to make my prints!
Seems like being an artist is more screen time than creating time 🎨
It's now 9:30 EST and I have not yet painted, drawn, or designed anything... I suppose if you count content creation (filming + editing) you might say I was being creative; I however just feel like my eyes are going to fall out from looking at a screen all day, and like I wasted a ton of time. But I didn't!! I got a lot of things done on my laptop that I've been meaning to do! Why does it feel unproductive? Can anyone else relate?

I feel that a lot too! I always remind myself though, that if I spent the entire time I spend on my phone, doing art or editing, I'd probably be hitting my head against a wall in burnout and art block πŸ˜… our bodies know how to pace themselves, and we know when we feel up to the task! ☺️
Why I'm buying a printer...with no print orders...πŸ˜…πŸ’Œ
Ok so I've been doing a lot of research on outsourcing prints verse investing in your own printer. As a tiny art business who hasn't made any sales yet, you may be wondering why I would even consider dropping hundreds of $$$ on a printer with no print orders yet! So let's talk about it! So firstly, I decided that I will be printing on demand in the beginning of selling prints! if you don't know, that means printing only when there's an orders placed as opposed to keeping a large stock of prints in your inventory. This makes more sense for me since I don't have guaranteed print sales coming in, and If I outsourced a large stock of prints, I could end up losing money if they don't sell well ( Fine art prints are PRICEY!! ) Secondly, I'm starting a print club that will include letters, coloring pages, and stickers, so even if I was outsourcing my prints for the club, I would still need to purchase a regular cheaper household printer. Assuming I'm successful in gaining members to my club, I would be going through a decent amount of ink, and because most standard printers run on cartridges, replacing them constantly can get EXPENSIVE. So I would want to buy an EcoTank. Thirdly, ordering processing time. For print orders, I would prefer to send them myself. Many artists like to do this so that they can add goodies to the order, write a thank you card and use their customized packing materials. So FUN!! To do this when outsourcing means the customer places the print order on your site, you then place the oder to the print service, it takes around 5 business days to get to YOU, you the pack + ship it and then it takes even LONGER to get to the customer. I don't know about you guys but whenever I'm ordering something online and it says estimated arrival time is in 5 - 10 business days, I'm immediately turned off. We live in a time of amazon prime and instant gratification...unfortunatelyπŸ˜… So all that to say I have come to the conclusion that hurting my pockets a little bit more now, will save me time and money in the future....what do you guys think?! Would you wait to buy one until you saw print orders coming in?

I recently bought a HP Envy6210e printer that uses their Instant Ink subscription! They automatically send me more ink when I run low - they check via my printers connection to the WiFi, and I got 3 months worth free ink with the printer, and an extra 3 months worth free once starting up the ink subscription!

@RΓa Suri Studio I am working on making small A6 prints of my art, its not business quality printing, but the colours are great and there is no bleeding! So it'll do for starting out!
